this is a gun that is 2x3 in size, it requires power to shoot, holding 4 energy, and using 4 energy / shot,
it also requires 1 crew to pilot it, it also has 4 tiles of storage, The objective of this gun is to transport resource Long distance between ships, as crew are very slow with increased distance from a ship, with a maximum range of 100, to use this gun, you will need at least 1 on the other ship you want to transfer resources between,
this gun has a cooldown between uses of 9 seconds, and fires a projectile, meaning moving when using this gun will just dump the resources into space, flying off and away as the alignment between the 2 guns on the 2 ships is broken, the resource projectile itself travels at 65 m/s
when using this gun, the second gun( the one that will import) will have to be empty before it can receive resources from the Exporting gun,
To use this gun, you first need to select the gun you want exporting resources, then have it target the gun on the ship you want to have the resources imported to, and when you get into range and within the fire arcs of both guns, they can transfer resources, the gun only receives resources from another transport gun, or from crew putting in the resources from within the ship
it can be set to auto export when the conditions are met and the gun is targetted, in this mode it fires when it's full of resources, but can still be manually fired with a button similar to mines that fires it with the conditions met

this gun will not be anywhere as fast as using 6, or 7 crew to move stuff between 2 ships close together, it however is better when far apart
it's also a surface weapon
I like this idea a lot.
Would be usefull on a factory ship if it makes resource transporting between ships faster question is if it would be faster tho
Why would your ships be that far appart when you want to give them resources tho
perhaps you have multiple ships in an asteroid field, so not all will be close
with 1 factory ship in the middle of them all
True but having to angel the ships to receive from the otther gun might get annoying might be easier to shoot it in the gener area and letting resource collectors do the rest
If it was very fast, long ranged and risk-free it might have use in pvp, actually.
Only issues is you have to stand still lol
Sure if you manualy aim it otherwise it would go off trajectory and miss while moving
Not like it can calculate you suddenly changing how your moving and it would just miss your target
I think these kinds of issues could be solved by having the gun always be able to do its job unless you exit its operation range.
Maybe you could have the bea curve as the ship moves.
