The idea is that whenever you click on a part to change the direct control mode binding, that you could change it to basically any key. This would make it a lot faster to toggle groups of weapons on/off, and possibly change a setting on them (maybe to change a weapon to fire at will or to halt fire). It could be incorporated by added a custom direct control mode hotkey that is customizable to be almost any key so that you don't have to manually click on a part to change it's settings.

control groups are already in the game, the default keybind is Ctrl+numkey to create a control group and just press the number while in combat to select it
this can be changed to any key you want tho
