#Faction Exclusive Technologies

I do like this, but I do think it should still be possible to get all of them, and once you get the blueprints, you should be able to make them, no matter your reputation with that faction.
Yes, getting their core technology and stabbing them in the back is the roadmap of my ambition of endless pursuit of strongest ship in the galaxy!
Maybe factions could get faction-exclusive buffs to certain systems, for example Cabal of Sol gets shield and laser weapon buffs, and Monolith gets cannon buffs.
Wouldnt monolith get HE buffs too?
I don't like buffs for they affect existing ship designs without doing anything to it
At least unique buff provider components
In what way would this work for MP? As I'd assume you get access to all of it
Which depending on how strong each thing for each faction is, it may make things, for example a better thruster for cabal's, as in the lore their ships are supposed to be the fastest, would make regular thrusters laughable and only those special cabal ones get used
Which may limit ships on what they can do
I don't think faction exclusive parts should be a straight upgrade to any of the basic parts, this is not how new parts are added to cosmoteer
we have all types of thrusters, at this point it'd be an upgrade, we have the 3 types of missiles, 3 kinds of cannons, and such as well, either new things will be smaller, or larger things of what we have, or what we'll get on the road map, such as 'plasma' weapons and such
I would rather have faction exclusive parts that require specific builds around them, rather than replacing existing ship parts.
by upgrade,i just mean it does the same thing, has the same feel, but is just better, for example, a 3x4 size thruster that has the same ramp up as the ht, and more thrust, and it is exclusive to the cabal
or just a 3x4 size surface lb, that is just an lb but larger and more effective that is exclusive to the fringe
it also just means more work for such things
doing faction quests by throwing the quest stations to die at pirates, to then claim the faction rewards without losing out on the faction you were suppost to kill
I guess that's an exploit
a feature
