#Stacking Sensors

Hello! I think it would be great if we could benefit from more than 1 sensor at a time.

Sensors are a good QoL career feature for most ships, a great QoL feature for miners, and a sniping enabler for railgun/missile ships. All of which are cool, but I feel as if they could be leveraged to do more.

Possible effects for equipping multiple sensors:

  • allows us to see inside enemy ships
  • increased range, though perhaps with diminishing returns
  • gives player builds really cool station/outpost/support aesthetics
  • jump point after a certain amount of tonnage + sensor count(?)

I witsh we sould have smaller sensor rooms aswell

Stacking 500 sensors to see everything, assuming each adds an extra 400 meters of viability

probably would have diminishing returns

It could still have a cap, or increase nonlinearly. (i.e. each extra sensor adds less to the range until they add effectively zero.)

yeah, i would like that

perhaps having 4+ sensors and a certain level of tonnage (to avoid abusing the mechanic) will allow your ship to be treated as a jump point?

#

would be good for folks that like to build stations

maybe with large ships you could place them in different places (like hyperdrives) to get the most sensor range

that's fine
