While the current selection is nice and fun (rip mines tho), I'd love to see more options for the launchers in general.

AP missiles that pen the enemy with no explosion. Swarm missiles that fire fast tiny accurate missiles that do low damage but can counter PD and overwhelm shields. Dumb fire rockets that're fast and hit like a truck, but don't track targets at all. Incendiary missiles that do nothing to the ship if they hit armour, but set a large internal section aflame if they hit "soft" parts. And once crew boarding gets implemented, boarding torpedoes would be hilariously amazing. As well as maybe virus munitions that gas out the ship, leaving it mostly undamaged and salvageable.

Might need to make new launcher variants and or combine factory types for some of them. But it would be an easy way to add more spice to combat imo.

Hell, could scale missiles up to a late game torpedo weapon selection too.slow but powerful weapons.

why would u want to have missiles, that can counter PDs AND shields ?
"dump fire rockets" = nukes
setting stuff on fire is a canon feature

well .. it sounds like u want the ultimate weapon. and im afraid of, that every other weapon couldnt compare with what u imagine

im not a fan of ap missiles, theres no reason to add them while cannons alrrady exist

the gas idea is very interesting. maybe the gas would expand to fit the room but couldn’t go through doors. Crew can’t go through doors with gas on the other side tho. I’m thinking of it as a fast-spreading version of fire that doesn’t damage blocks and only affects a specific area. maybe these thrusters could be more maneuverable to add more strategy to where on an enemy’s ship you hit them.

I also like this idea of 'gas' missiles/shells/wevs that do very minimal lasting damage but lock out rooms or cells of the ships they are fired into.

You could flavour them however you felt like, whether it's a space-suit-penetrating knockout gas, a fast-expanding and setting foam that literally makes an area impassible/unusable or magic pixie-dust that just doesn't let crew into the effected area for some time.

Be even more interesting (and potentially too complex to code/balance) if any equipment that is in use in the area can't be switched on/off once hit. Want to stop or turn? Damn shame your thrusters/ER are all locked out, isn't it? Reactors/capacitors or factories locked? No energy/ammo for you now.

They'd need to be more expensive (at least the ammo) ammo though, because it's increasing the amount of salvage the attacker gains (assuming they win, of course).
