Pretty much the idea would be to allow ships from library to be placed in build mode so you can have things like carriers where the paint would carry over. If the ship being placed has a different paint scheme it would just change it like when you load paint schemes. Does that make sense?

If you use the “replace existing” command instead of paste into existing, it will spawn centered correctly and then you can avoid all the jank of misaligned paint
