A new "unstable" update is ready for testing on the unstable beta branch on Steam! This update makes some additional performance improvements and bug fixes. A lot of under-the-hood code has changed, so I don't feel comfortable releasing this update to everyone yet without some testing. Please let me know if and how much performance has improved for you, as well as any new issues you encounter. Thanks!

RC1 Changelog:

  • Increased Sensor Array battery capacity from 4 to 8.
  • Significantly improved performance of flying crew, especially when they are off-screen.
  • Improved performance when a lot of resource transfers, trades, or pickups are scheduled.
  • Massively improved performance in the ship editor when there are huge numbers of floating resources.
  • Updated the Boost Thruster description to make it clear that power can't be delivered to it while boosting.
  • Bugfix: Long pauses when flying or jumping away from large quantities of floating resources.
  • Bugfix: Possible fix for some desyncs when salvaging, trading, and transferring resources.

RC2 Changelog:

  • Lowered the default Max Send Rate from 10000 to 1000. (This only affects new players.)
  • Bugfix: Possible fix for the "Save Game" button being permanently disabled.
  • Bugfix: Certain mods could prevent ships from appearing in the Ship Library.

Can confirm, no drop in fps going from normal mode into build mode and blueprint mode with that save you pinged me for.
within said save i noticed the resource manager drops from 55 to 25 fps.
with any crew in the air, the frames drop from 55 to 35
just giving an order with 400 crew whilst paused, fps starts lowering at 8420 items from 55 to 50, 15,000 items 55 to 45. i go from 55 to 40 at 22,820 items.
building in build mode, whilst theres fps it chugs for a moment picking items from space, not sure if related to ammount of items

i think the 8 sensor fuel is good, crews that are synced supplying it can still supply it, aliviates the issue of crew tick problem that some people have experianced, i loaded up a save that displayed such and it just now works

was playing this one and noticed some hitching at times after about and hour of play time when in x8 speed. I t would just freeze for a second or get stutters where the game was at high frame rate, but the ship was moving like it was 15 fps

me and 2 friends tried Unstable 0.20.24 in hopes of it fixing some of the FPS issues at level 18 system, huge trades and salvagings happening: immediatelly getting in the game: 2x sync errors, and when it "works", it works less than half FPS than the stable x.23. Going back to it currently.
