An interesting way to play career is to limit yourself to ship costing (approximately) as much as opponent's. It prevents grinding an overpowered ship and focuses on more interesting gameplay. My idea is to formalize that as a separate difficulty setting by limiting the total cost of player's ships to either:
- cost of the most expensive non-station enemy defeated
- cost based on the tier of the most difficult cleared sector (where "cleared" means ie. certain number of missions done)
- something based on player's fame level
A constant modifier (ie. 1.5) can be introduced as means of making it slightly easier - the player has to build one ship/set of ships to defeat every enemy after all.
