So when you attack a station right now, they "just spawn" reinforements a little bit off screen.
It would be such a delight to not have Lv16 spawn in on you when you attack a Lv12 Station for a Quest where you already have 4 Lv12 ships defending + station.

So my idea would be to place in nearby relay stations that you have to destroy in order to prevent said reinforcements to just spawn in. So you have way to avoid getting cheated on by the A.I when they just spawn in ships that are far beyond the current system.

Other than that it would be nice if you yourself could call in reinforcements or order an attack from/with a friendly faction so you actually can use your goody points for something.

Said reinforcements spawn when you attack faction targets. My understanding is that it doesn't matter what the target is, they spawn

Yes, indeed wouldn't it be nice to not just have enemies appear out of thin air... void?
Or at least a timer.
If you can't complete your attack in 3mins (could be influenced how present the faction is in this system) then enemy ships arrive.

I'm actually on board with this idea, could be a good change, maybe as a change in career 2.0 update.

It was imperium Imperium if I remember correctly. Anyway the way it is currently just feels scammy and kinda cheap from the A.I.

And it's not hard to deal with the reinforcements even with 7 ships on you if you have a good assault ship you can blast them to hell before they touch you
However I do kinda like this suggestion and think that it may be a good idea it would bring more challenge to the game aswell
