#Commandeering Ships

It would be nice if there was a more direct way to commandeer a disabled ship that didn't require transferring crew to it. I was able to disable an enemy ship where most of it was intact, but the only airlock had already been destroyed. It would have been nice to be able to commandeer the ship and add the necessary components back to make it usable again.

walt has stated that avoiding the destruction of airlocks is a challange to taking an enemy ship

I do beleive Walt does plan to make it where when repairing ships crew will go out and repair the ship themselves instead of it being automatic so maybe when that gets added in that could work?

though that also makes sense

Interesting. If that's part of it, sure, but I can see getting very annoyed because the combat isn't so precise to allow you the control to avoid splash damage... I like the idea of 'external crews' too.

lasers are very accurate

I do agree that I don't want it to be so easy that you can capture every ship

if you want to be accurate, you should use accurate weapons

just target indavidual parts

Depends on ship design.

Laser turrets have a degree of motion and what you see or want the laser to hit, isn't really what it WILL hit.

ion beams are the most precise

Also, ships in combat with you always look directly at you, or try to as hard as they can.

Yeah.
