Alrighty, so now that I have been spent about 6 hours in the demo, I noticed something...

After defeating any pirate or enemy ship, their crew just ends up floating in space. What if ships had prison cells that allowed us to transport them to a prison station or a faction station and allow us to sell them for profit, almost like an addition to the bounty system.

Also this could further expand into VIP(s) transport missions, lets say we were hired to transfer a highly political figure(s) amongst one of the 4 factions but we would need to be highly prepared because they are a sought after target(s), pirates would be willing to do anything to get their hands on that person (leading into a ambush). If we are successfully able to transport the person (or people) from point A to B, we would be paid. Also maybe a bonus if we are able to get them there without any interference.

Note: A requirement for this mission could be a guest room/VIP room

  1. Selling them as captives should not be only option. Would be nice to be able to recruit them. Recruiting more crew with low popularity can bee too pricey. But rescuing people from space would be free. Could require something, like time or special room, for balance reasons.
  2. It don't have be the VIP, can be just missions to transport civilians.

I find ships fighting futile battles in general to be a very sad thing in this game. In addition to ability to take defeated crew prisoner, here are a couple more related:

  1. Prisoners can be kept in more cramped, but special quarters so that they do not cause issues on the ship. It would also complement the idea of VIP rooms or passenger bunks. Passenger bunks and prisoner rooms can even be the same thing, while VIP rooms being more spacious and luxurious, but taking away valuable interior space. Or prisoners can be kept in the cargo bays - by taking resources out, and posting guards at cargo bay doors - making this sub-optimal

  2. Enemy ships surrendering, fleeing, or fearing the player when seen player ships massively overpower the ship in question and it's allies - "To hell fighing this". Gives one more reason for comms interface - "Hey uhh this isn't going well, please stop shooting i will pay up!" or "Let's settle this without violence". Or “Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!”

Besides, it is also highly unlikely for a Pirate crewmen to join up with us after a fight that killed some of his friends and the rest as prisoners.

Seeing things like more missions, events, space stations, and boarding have been pretty constant and yea, that should be a good requirement!

If you do a VIP mission for say… Imperium.

You can complete for extra rep with that faction or you can betray it and deliver the VIP to Cabal or Monolith and you’ll increase rep with them but heavily decrease it with the other.

Yes, and to add to this, perhaps a 'fine control' tractor beam (advanced tractor beam room) which can pick up hostile crew flying in space (without crushing them) and drop them into the Brig (or Guest quarters, for VIPS) for transport.

With options to deliver them to the nearest Space Station (Prison), or the Space Station which will pay for them (Bounty Hunting or VIP Rescue) or selling them back to their Faction... if you're mercenary enough
