Kinda like the image but more "blockbench-ey" / more custom models.
maybe more like this:
For these kind of images you're going to need to use another program to render things. One big reason is that bb does not have a lighting system. You would have to handpaint the lighting for the whole scene. My guess is that these were likely rendered in blender. I did a quick yt search and found this video. It might be helpful to you.
In this tutorial, I will teach YOU how to make CLEAN Minecraft renders in Blender

oh thank you! yeah I expected to need blender for rendering, but what about the actual modeling of the scene? do i have to convert my skins to base models and everything?
I can't speak to the specifics of working with/exporting Minecraft models. I only work in generic models. But some people do make mincreaft style models in generic format. You'll probably find more help in the #1021001177263001701 or #1021001264311574640 channels
alr thx, I'm just a bit confused on how to get started 😅 I'll keep trying things
it sucks that there aren't many tutorials yk? 😅
I think it might help to look up some tutorials about building 3d environments and illustration. Part of this is the literal modeling and using blender, But the rest are more general artistic techniques/knowledge.
Yeah, bb is still a pretty small community when it comes to tutorials
yeah, ig I just feel like each model within a scene has so many individual cubes that it becomes hard to manage, and keep track of. I'm someone that naturally tries to make things as efficient as possible, so I find this very hard
yeah
Tmk, you wouldn't be exporting the literal cubes themselves. For blender, you would need to export the model as a gltf or obj file. Blender doesn’t support bbmodel files.
But again, the Minecraft channels can give probabaly you a more accurate and helpful answer
yeah I mean more like in bb, also this isn't minecraft specific, I just mean the "Add Cube" button it just adds a lot of elements to a scene thats what I mean. but anyway, thanks for your help. I'll figure something out 🙃
and yes I know I can group them
Gotcha, If it's isn't Minecraft specific for style or format, then I would switch to using meshes instead. Then you don't have to use a large amount of cubes to make a model.
ohhhh, and I guess I can use those more like blender? extruding, cutting, etc.?
Yeah, same thing as what you use in blender.
cool thx
do you know if there is a way to set a "camera" I can go back to, to check how it looks from a set perspective?
oh found it!
"Save Angle..." button
No prob
You probably also want to install the camera plugin if you haven't. It can give you a bit better control of your view.
oh I'll check it out thx
is there a way to set the camera's position and rotation to my curent view?
oh figured it out
wait but how do I go to it?
As in add a camera? It should show up when you hit the plus sign to add an element in the outliner. I would suggest adding the "Add Camera" button to your toolbar to make it easier. You can do that by clicking the three dots next to the sets of button and hit customize toolbar.
Also add the "Link Camera to View" button to your toolbar. This will change your viewport to show what the camera sees.
oh ok thx
No prob.
If you want to be able to have one viewport to model and a second next to it to see the camera view, you can right click the background of the viewport, go to split screen and choose vertical or horizontal split. Then click into the viewport you want to assign the camera to and click the link camera button.
Then you don't have to constantly toggle it on and off in one view.
OH THANK YOU! thats what ive been trying to figure out! do you know if using this method you can also pull it into a second window so I can have it on my second monitor?
Bb can't do it natively, but I think someone was working on a plugin that was mentioned in the #1019995093341585428 channel, but I'm not sure what stage it's at.
