also ive tried manually dragging things around
to separate them
but half the time that i try to select a new piece after im done moving the previous piece, it keeps the previous one selected too and drags both of them, seemingly at random, and Im not holding control or shift or anythin
dragging them apart manually is absolutely unbearable because of that lmao
and apparently even the progress I did get with manually separating them before creating a new texture again was completely undone and reverted when i created a new texture
:D
@wanton plaza Did you wind up finding an answer for this? I swear I am going insane, I followed all the advice I could find but I keep getting random overlaps
Your description is similar to mine anywho
i mean that the explanation im about to say
Apologies for the ping I am just genuinely at a complete loss here
might be for slightly wrong thing btw since this was some time ago
oh its all fine btw
i actualyl just launched blockbench for the first time in like a month 10 minutes ago lol
but yeah what PROBABLY solved this but im not sure
was that it was caused by selecting some objects, creating a texture for them
then selecting other objects, creating a different, separate texture for them
in same project
Right
and them like sharing a UV map somehow
but not knowing to not occupy the same space as each other
so what I do now and I never get this issue anymore
is either make one texture for whole model
or if i do need multiple for one reason or another
just make really sure that its like saved separately and selected separately and stuff
and not like done at the same time or something
hope this helps btw gl
mh... darn, yeah, might not work for me x- x
sorry if it doesnt, again I cant remember if that was the exact thing
Yeah dw
My issue is I am trying to texture the whole object
(which is made of multiple meshses)
and some of them keep clustering
and create one texture they all use
WAIT THAT MIGHT BE THE ISSUE
one sec
select every single mesh at once
not one at a time
select ALL meshes together
then create a texture
Just to be sure, how would I do so?
like either shift clicking them on the right
or ctrl clicking
yeah so if you tried giving every mesh a diff texture they try to occupy same UV map space
and dont avoid each other
okay I shift clicked...
but you can fix it by just making one big collective texture for all of them to use different areas of
like so right?
i mean that looks liek its probably what you wanted right
like it looked buggy and clippy prob before
no gimme a sec to show you why
ok that looks correct
you created the new texture with all of those currently selected as you did so right
yes, though let me try again just to be sure
Like so?
:<
hmmmmm
?
mirror modelling is on
oh lmfao
lemme see if that fchanges if disabled...
turn that off and try again pls
mirror modelling is such an evil setting lol
it killed my dad
insidious bugger it is
uhhh
try saving, closing blockbench, and reopening it>
?*
it might just always start with mirror modeling off when restarted
oh wait also btw i think CTRL Z after turning off mirror model
undoes the turning it off
and turns it back on
who invited that guy
My emojis I assume
yeah sorr i was just trying to be funny
okay trying once more
mirror modelling is thoroughly off...
don't corss me π
btw i cant see the UV lines
ah shoot
is this a working attempt or bad
the transparent areas on model dont necessarily mean its bad btw
sometimes its just like that initially instead of some random opaque color
yeah..
i get if you dont want to btw
but would you mind sending the project / model
eh sure
gonna DM it rq
