The vanilla villager models don't render biome overlays on the head with certain professions like butcher, fletcher, and shepherd I believe. I can't for the life of me figure out how to reproduce this with JEM. Advice from anyone that has experience with this would be greatly appreciated!

villagers have mcmeta files that control if the hat renders or not
Yes, I have those in my file paths
idk why it isnt working then
just move the cubes to the head and out of the headwear folder
yes
that does nothing at all
show how it should be looking
What do you mean?
Like how vanilla renders it?
I'm not understanding how the vanilla models are hiding the biome hats on certain professions, I built my models off of the JEM template for Villagers and I have the vanilla filepaths in the resource pack and the model in blockbench is pointing to those files correctly from what I can tell
The only thing changed on the model end is the shape of the nose and the addition of ear cubes
Do the professions and biome types need to be in the optifine cem folder?
probably just a CEM limitation
is there any way to recreate this behaviour in JEM? that's what my query is about,,,
i didnt know this behaviour existed until you mentioned it
CEM doesnt look like it supports it, so no
buh
