I basically made 2d textures of a bow and edited the gui stuff in blockbench, but when i tried to load it in game the textures became corrupted, the model works tho. I did turned the textures into 3d ||(I just click the "create texture" button in the texture section)|| in bb for it but it still didnt work. (the logs kept saying "missing textures") ||(Let alone the animated part Im already having troubles with the non-animated part ๐Ÿ’€)||

I temporarily replaced the standby texture with the pulling one since the standby one is supposed to be animated

#

k, and your soul_catch_pulling_2.png etc. are all in assets/minecraft/textures/item?

cobalt flume
#

yes

#

i checked the file path already

#

i spent like 1 hour trying to fix it ๐Ÿ’€

sterile jasper
#

Hmm, don't see a reason why it wouldn't load the texture then ๐Ÿค”
Are there any .png.mcmeta files next to the texture?

#

(as in in the same folder)

#

They aren't required (though an animated texture will look squished without them), but if they are there and somehow "wrong" they can cause issues.

cobalt flume
#

the only .png file was the standby one (which i didnt used it for now)

#

How are you currently adding the soul catcher model to the game?
Optifine CIT or vanilla method?

cobalt flume
#

cit

#

i tried to use vanilla and i got utterly confused so i switched to cit

#

1.21+ btw

sterile jasper
#

can you show what is in your .properties file?

cobalt flume
sterile jasper
#

hmm, don't really see any reason why it wouldn't show the textures at this point ๐Ÿค” (then again, I haven't used CIT since 1.8, so ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ )

FAQ
Java: Output Log

The output log will show you errors related to resource packs in Minecraft: Java Edition. Here is how you can enable it.
(PS: Optifine likes to hide vanilla errors/warnings for some weird reason, so always load the game up without it if you don't need it for your pack to work!)
If you don't understand the errors/warnings feel free to show and ask about them (in a help channel).

Umm I remember it only outputs the "missing textures" message
I can check it later I'm not at my laptop rn

sterile jasper
#

Yeah, very weird that it can't find the textures ๐Ÿค”
Could you screenshot the folder path at the top with the file names just in case there is some very hidden typo?
(so I can see assets/minecraft/textures/item at the top basically)
