I got my pack with my file trident.jem generated by blockbench in the folder assets/minecraft/optifine/cem
I have the texture next to it, named trident.png
I have optifine installed, but I just see the classic trident

Java: Output Log

The output log will show you errors related to resource packs in Minecraft: Java Edition. Here is how you can enable it.
(PS: Optifine likes to hide vanilla errors/warnings for some weird reason, so always load the game up without it if you don't need it for your pack to work!)
If you don't understand the errors/warnings feel free to show and ask about them (in a help channel).

so I tried in the .jem with a "scale": [0.5, 0.5, 0.5], but it didn't work

I mean, yeah, you made it like 6 blocks high 😅

I tried to scale it in BlockBenche but it messed up
Via Transform > Scale ? You'd need to swap to per-face uv in File > Project before scaling.

I never really dabbled with Optifine animations, so not sure myself what could be the problem.
