Unwanted Brush Mirroring

I want to draw different shapes for the individual wings but it always mirrors what I do in the other wing. Is there just no way to do that? and that they have to be symmetrical? It's my first time using Blockbench

Both halfs of the elytra use the same part of the texture.
So if your goal is to change the texture via a (normal) resource pack for example then you can't change that cause you cannot edit the model of elytra.
