#How do I delete this box that's completely screwing up the models' textures?

The box in the image marked by green arrows is completely off-center with the texture sheet and can't be fixed. If I move the box, it moves to away from the bext next to it, which makes 0 sense. I don't know when this was added but it is genuinely frustrating and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. Can't texture models with this breaking the sheet.

what's your texture's size and what is your project texture resolution/size set to atm?

buoyant stratus
#

this texture sheet is 4x4 since I only use a size for how many colors are needed, resolution is 16x16, but I've never had this issue until recently

I don't know what that box is even for but it has an icon at the bottom right of it so I assume it's something I don't really need?

#

I don't recognize it anyways

echo sandal
#

the scaling box?

minor path
#

its the north face

#

the icon is the scaling drag handle

buoyant stratus
echo sandal
#

yes

buoyant stratus
#

not the tiny white dot, the bigger one

minor path
#

you can ignore that. its the scale everything drag handle

buoyant stratus
#

oh

#

well then why is this box disobeying logic

#

like idk how it's moving 2 tiles over when I only moved one

minor path
#

its snapping to the pixels because your texture is 4x4 pixels

#

hold shift or ctrl for precise movement

buoyant stratus
#

ok that's not really what I mean

#

snapping is fine

#

but like

minor path
#

then i dont understand what the issue is and need you to explain it better or record it

buoyant stratus
#

another example, I just moved that cube over a 1x1 pixel, but somehow this same cube in the other image is 3x3?

#

idk what's causing that specific layer to do that

minor path
#

i dont understand what you are talking about

buoyant stratus
#

I don't know how I can be anymore clear

minor path
#

what are you trying to do exactly

buoyant stratus
#

I didn't move that face to cover a 3x3 area, I only moved those bottom ones to a 1x1 pixel, but that specific face became 3x3 instead

minor path
#

you have all the faces selected. if you only want to move one face, only select one face

buoyant stratus
#

that's not it either

minor path
#

record the problem

buoyant stratus
#

even if I select all faces, that one covering 3x3 shouldn't have grown that large when I only made a 1x1 pixel on the bottom right

minor path
#

what is stopping you selecting the north face and changing its size to what you want it to be

buoyant stratus
#

nothing, but I shouldn't have to do that

#

also I just recorded myself messing with it and somehow managed to break the entire thing

#

idk what happened here but my god it's bad

minor path
#

can you send the video

buoyant stratus
#

rendering it

#

also I should note I wasn't holding Shift or CTRL when I was moving that box

echo sandal
#

do you still have the problem if you set your project's texture resolution/size to 4x4 instead?

minor path
#

you are resizing it

#

resizing it will resize it

#

if you want to move it, dont drag the corners, since that resizes it

buoyant stratus
#

one of the cubes is literally wrong when I resize it

#

or move

#

it's like, not following what every other face is doing

#

as if the action gets doubled for it

#

they should add stay in the same place but that one specific face is like messed up and idk why

buoyant stratus
#

I genuinely have no idea what is happening here, all I can assume is an update broke something

#

been a while since I modeled

#

and yes that is the North face that's acting up

minor path
#

i still dont see what the issue is. you are selecting multiple different sized faces, and are trying to scale them all at the same time. but because they are different sizes, when you scale them at the same time, they cant scale down together smoothly due to the 4x4 size limit and pixel snapping.

echo sandal
#

I can't reven reproduce the problem 🤔

buoyant stratus
#

I've never had this before and idrk why North only is doing this

#

every other face is fine from what I can tell

#

apparently just dragging North only somehow magically stopped it from acting up. I'm failing to understand what this app is on sometimes

echo sandal
#

I can resize and move them just fine here

#

not sure why it bugs out so much for you 🤔

minor path
#

try factory resetting

buoyant stratus
#

me either, not the first time a texture has broken for me

buoyant stratus
minor path
#

reset blockbench to factory settings

#

help > developer > factory reset

echo sandal
#

resets all settings, removes installed plugins etc.

minor path
#

like it was a fresh install

buoyant stratus
#

Well, I mean, I fixed it by just resetting the North texture, but idk if it'll happen with others

buoyant stratus
#

partially fixed it...

#

what is this grid here? Like those lines around the 2 spaces with nothing there

#

I don't remember that ever being a thing

#

it's probably the source of my problems seeing how it's follinwing the north face

minor path
#

its the selection outline

buoyant stratus
#

what... what outline

minor path
#

its just a rectangle showing what you have selected

buoyant stratus
#

this didn't exist last time I worked on models, or was never enabled

minor path
#

its purely visual

buoyant stratus
#

oh

#

man this is just hurting my head. I don't get why north is like refusing to following where every other face goes

#

it's like chilling the bottom left of the selection

#

idk why

#

right* not left

#

wait why are there 2 norths

buoyant stratus
#

so i guess these 2 specific north faces were broken? I don't know why, the others worked fine but those 2 I had to manually move the north face alone. Idk what caused this but I might have to do the reset thing at this point, the app has been acting up a lot with some of my older models

minor path
#

can you send the model file

buoyant stratus
#

yeah, looks like you can replicate the problem too

#

so like, if you select the brown part, then select all faces, you should be able to drag them all around with no issue. If you select those 2 green ones, then select all faces, the North ones will start shifting to the bottom right for no reason. It's only those 2 green ones that do that

minor path
#

by drag around, do you mean resize, or actually move

#

because you were saying move before, but then your video was resizing

#

also i don't think I am able to reproduce the issue

buoyant stratus
#

you selected the 2 green cubes, selected all faces for it and moved or resized them?

minor path
#

yes

buoyant stratus
#

ooook...

#

I don't know, I think my blockbench is just messed up

minor path
#

1 sec i record

#

@buoyant stratus does it work in the blockbench webapp

buoyant stratus
#

yeah that's really weird, that's not what happens for me

buoyant stratus
minor path
#

something in your installation is broken then

buoyant stratus
#

most likely

minor path
#

try completely uninstalling and reinstalling blockbench

buoyant stratus
#

anything I should do before that?

#

idk if there's anything important I would need to do, other then check plugin names

#

should probably
