Here is a YouTube video explaining this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXqBAwl0n6Q&t=1s
I've watched this a few times and none of his solutions work for me, like his 360 edge thing causes a curved texture
I'm very new to blockbench so forgive me if I sound stupid
Rings, or layers, idk how to say that but you get a different result by following the tutorial is because of yours have even amounts of that.
My suggestion is manually make and connect one verticals, then copy and paste them to other verticals, then move them to a new position so they don't stack
So everyone else manually makes the sphere? That seems like a lot of work for just an objectively better sphere for almost every circumstance
You can try the seam tool and play around with the generated angle threshold or whatever it called
We both used the basic sphere shape and followed the same steps and the result is different
Sphere shape yes, but different settings
From top to bottom try count how many face you have vs theirs
They can easily have a nice generated uv because all the face of their middle rings are square shape
Yeah apparently he switches it from 12 to 13 sides before doing the 360 thing
Just offscreen
I do :) I just keep templates or UV map it in Blender then reimport
you can try seam mark like this, the generated one is getting there, but not useable imo
or seam like this, when generate, island set to 360
or be like me, manually map it in 10 min.
anyways the more complex/organic your model are the more likely you will have to spend more time mapping it, so imo better get good at this from the ground than rely on auto gen
if that works for you, yes
IIf your question is resolved run the /close command 😊 it helps to keep the forums clean!
OH yeah I forgot! Thanks!

I made a sphere with a good layout for pixel art
