k, yeah, that won't work
it needs to have certain folders and your file needs to have a certain name, else Minecraft doesn't know what do do with any of that

assuming that's just a texture that all (tamed) dogs should use, you'd do this:
dog.zip/assets/minecraft/textures/entity/wolf/wolf_tame.png

is that what i should rename it too

you make those folders in your dog.zip and rename your texture to wolf_tame

#

(dog.zip could also be a normal folder btw, doesn't need to be a zip folder)
