are you using spaces or underscores
double click the texture and show the file path it's currently using
ohhhhhh
thx
but now the problem is its in documents in files but i cant rename the whole documents section i dont think
the only relevant folder names are staring from your pack folder
so if your pack is in the Documents folder that's fine
if the texture is just randomly inside your Documents folder without being inside a pack(-like folder structure) then it won't work
the textures are in a folder in documents but the folder is lowercase and it says the problem is 'D'
yeah, the D of Documents
cause currently it thinks Documents is part of your pack because you loaded textures from something that isn't a pack
!faq java-textures-folder
Java: Textures Folder
Jokes aside, textures need to be anywhere inside the "YourPack/assets/minecraft/textures" folder inside your pack. If you are in 1.19.3 or newer they need to be in textures/item or textures/block.
If you are using the downloaded version of Blockbench, make sure you also load the textures from the correct location into Blockbench (or save textures from BB directly there), or the relative texture path inside the model will break.
If you are using the web version you need to rightclick every texture and specify the folder path (after "textures") and name of every texture manually instead.
If you wanna use custom subfolders in 1.19.3 or newer use !faq java-1.19.3-textures
ohhhh
if i make a random folder named textures in .minecraft will it work?
no
hmm
how do i do that im not very smart with file stuff
are you asking how to make a folder?
nono
ik how to do that
but basically how would i make it work
because you said a folder wouldnt work
to be fair, wouldn't be the first time someone asked that
I said a single folder wouldn't work
because the game and Blockbench both expect a certain folder structure.
YourPack/assets/minecraft/textures/item
(YourPack would be whatever you name your pack)
im still kinda confused
you said yourpack/assets and then minecraft
yes, a folder named minecraft
not the same as .minecraft
all of that would be in .minecraft/resourcepacks/YourPack/...
sorry for the @ reply but ^
(YourPack would be whatever you name your pack)
but the rest is good?
once you move them into each other in the right order, yes
ah so its just like folder in a folder in a folder etc etc?
yes
with nothing else?
i think i did it right but can you confirm please?
the model would go somewhere into assets/minecraft/models, but yeah, the textures look fine
so model goes outside the folder the textures are in?
the models folder goes into the minecraft folder (so after you made the models folder you should see it and the textures folder at the same time)
so models folder next to textures folder in minecraft
yes
and then usually an "item" or a "block" folder, depending on what you plan to replace and how you plan to use your model ingame
o
ok i put the model into the models folder thats in minecraft then the textures themselves in textures which is in minecraft inside textures is the item folder and inside item folder is the actual textures
that works right?
hmm
ok it says it still is linked to documents because still says the same thing
Have you relinked the textures?
Rightclick the texture in BB, then click "Change File" and load it from that new location
Repeat that for every texture.
alternatively open the .json in a text editor, then replace all mentions of Documents/ with item/doubleeros/ in that textures section near the beginning of the text
uhh
so
odd thing
o wait nvm
uhhh
sooooo
@humble stream it worked but kinda- didnt? in a way
in what way?
don't add the .png part in the texture paths
?
can you open your .json in a text editor and show the first few lines of text?
well, now it looks like you removed all textures instead of changing the texture paths
Except for the string texture, which apparently was in the Downloads folder at the time you loade it in?
huh
