out of no where im suddenly unable to edit the left half of this meshes texture.

no matter whether you draw on the UV area or on the model itself?

yeah both in the uv and the model where i has coloured before suddenly is unable to be achanged now.

its just whats directly surrounding what was edited.

Well this layer menu was the problem somehow it split this specific mesh in the uv area into 2 layers.

Did you perhaps use the selection tool to copy/paste (not just move) a part of the texture? Cause iirc that defaults to pasting that as new layer.

make it where it doesnt make new layers

it should give you the options to do so here after pasting

though I think that needs to be done every time (not sure though, unfortunately I haven't had time to used layers much myself yet)
