I'm following this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GukhptdHlPk&t=189s and when I get to the part of deleting the vertex to make it look like this it erases the whole object. 😦
What am I doing wrong?

Just press the Delete key on your keyboard

You can also do Edit > Delete instead.

Are you on a mac? If so, to delete you press "fn + delete".
