Modded Entities dont support per-face uv
oh shoot really?
wait- so does that just mean i need to have each side invidiually shaded instead of having 1 texture replicated on different sides?
Before converting, select everything (Ctrl+A), then create a new texture and tick the box-uv option in that texture creation window.

I ended up tediously moving each texture into the right spot for each face
