#Difference between "save project" and "save model"?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
The difference isn't major, but long-hover over the actions to see a description of what they do
Save model seems to act the same as save project, but it seems to attempt to save everything externally instead of within a project file (while also attempting to save the project file last of all?)
I'm not sure when I should use which.
Hover over them and read their descriptions
It really doesn't matter which one you use.
Do the things it tries to save externally with save model get lost if you only save project?
Or are they stored internally within the project?
Bbmodel stores everything internally
Okay.
I do have a skin texture that it seems to be saving externally. Is there any way I can make that be an internal file that gets saved along with the rest of the project?
That automatically happens, just save the bbmodel to your computer
Well like.
It's an external file.
It does seem strange for me to keep it as external while the other 3 are internal.
Is there any way I can change that?
Also like
Would it be better for me to save those internal files externally anyways instead?
That just means they're saved to your computer as separate files but they will still show up when you re-open the bbmodel
Save all of them to your computer using that floppy disk icon, then whenever you save your project use Save Model (Ctrl S) which will automatically change those files. That's what it's used for.
So like
Are those three that aren't saved being held in Roaming\Blockbench somewhere, and they're not actually included in the bbmodel?
They're included in the bbmodel always, I said that
huh.
So
Ctrl S is just for fun, if you want to have your textures be saved externally as well?
Okay.
well, for other formats with their own export options it will save as those specific formats.
Save Project will always save .bbmodel.
Save Model will save depending on what it was opened as (or if it's a new model depending on the default settings)
