Do you know how to make a texture pack in general or do you need an explanation for that too?
Or do you only need the information on where to put the armor textures inside a texture pack?
i need explanation for...everything
the only thing remotely close to this that ik how to do is to instal mods and...just learnt to instal maps :/
k, do you know the folder where your resource packs are?
or at least where the .minecraft folder is
k, in that resourcepacks folder you make the following folders:
YourPack/assets/minecraft/textures/models/armor
(replace "YourPack" with whatever you want your pack to be named)
k
inside the "textures" folder you also make a folder called "entity" and a folder called "item"
once you are done with setting up the folders, you do the following:
- in the armor folder you put
netherite_layer_1.png andnetherite_layer_2(which are your armor textures) - in the entity folder you put your
elytra.png texture - in the item folder you put the item icons (the ones showing up in your inventory for
elytra,netherite_boots,netherite_leggings,netherite_chestplateandnetherite_helmet
And after that you put this file in "YourPack" folder (right next to the "assets" folder).
That file basically defines the description of your pack as well as for which version of the game it is intended (the pack will still work even if that value isn't correct, but it will be marked as red and you get warning when you try to load it (which you can ignore)
Ok so the armor folder has to be in the models which has to be in textures and etc etc?
yes
K
Ok
Ok so netherite_layer_1.png is as a photo I assume
Etf happened to my text
Nvm
it's the texture of the armor for helmet, chestplate, and boots
layer_2 is the one for the leggings
Lemme get the png for the textures
that kind of texture
yes
btw. in Blockbench you can use File > New > Skin > Armor (Main) (which is layer_1) and Armor (Leggings) (which is layer_2) to draw on a 3D template of armor
Ok
there is no Elytra template though iirc
So that's gon be for the custom armor
that's for making/editing your armor texture
Ok
So
Leggings png
Brb
I can't find a png with the leggings
Bruh
I'll come back to that
I thought you said you are gonna make a texture?
For now
I think I have an elytra.png
if you do this you get a template texture already
also:
!faq default-pack
Disclaimer: Use these packs as REFERENCE, don't put your models inside them, it just increases your pack needlessly. Also don't put any of the unedited files from it into your own pack. The distributions of default assets in your pack is illegal.
For Java Edition:
(This works the same for all versions, 1.17 is just used as an example here)
Go to .minecraft/versions/1.17 and open the 1.17.jar in there with a zip program. Alternativley you can copy the .jar file and change the file extension to .zip and double click it.
Extract/copy the "assets" folder inside the jar somewhere. It contains all the default models/textures.
For Bedrock Edition:
Go to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/minecraft/creator/documents/resourcepack and scroll to "Building the Resource Pack". The download for the vanilla resource pack can be found right above that title.
Alternatively here is the direct download link: https://aka.ms/resourcepacktemplate
Ok
I got that going
Now I gotta draw a minecraft texture for this
(Photo made by me btw)
wait the helmet has 2 layers?
bc i was doing the texture and theres a "hat layer" which is a layer above the helmet layer
Yep
The other parts technically have a lower layer too (except arms), but all of those lower layers are applied when you were the leggings
oh
k
currently moddeling the Shield Weaver Armor
the Helmet is not...THE BEST
But its good enough
i tried adding depth at the eye part so its better
now for the rest
even better
so for the legs, torso and boots the lower layer is the leggings?
and the upper layer is the ones that is in the same place as the helmet?
Armor (Main) has the "upper layers", which gets applied when wearing helmet, chestplate and boots
Armor (Leggings) has the "lower layer" (body and legs), which gets applied when wearing the leggings
ok
thx
on any case this set of armor is intended to be worn fully so it looks gud
but ill try to make it look good even with individual pieces :/
btw
im done with the upper layer of the chestplate
still...relatively gud
so i was thinking
if the boots are the upper layer of the leggings
and the leggings are the lower layer
and all the detail of the legs are on the upper layer
i could basicallly do the texture for the leggings in the texture for the boots, and then the legging would be the inner layer of fiber armor (thats what i assume they used in the game bc the shield weaver armor basically makes a shield around u,so u dont need as much protection under the armor)
actually ik how to split the legs into leggings and boots
on a sidenote heres the arms(along with the rest of my progress
ok im done with the modeling
now...what do i do now?
i save the BB models and put them into the armor folder?
both named netherite_layer_1 (and 2)
ive put the files in the folder
now i gotta chnage the item icons...
wait is it necessary to change the icons?
you don't save the .bbmodels in the pack
.bbmodels are Blockbench project files. You didn't make a model, you made a texture (that is shown on a model template for easier texturing)
not necessary
Ye
I saved the texture
Btw in the meantime I put my old elytra.png in the entity folder
Put the datapack code thing in the first folder
I say old bc it needs recoloring
Omg it works
:O
:D
it needs some texture tweaks(fix some armor panels etc) but its just like i wanted it :D
tysm bro :3
The elytra texture doesn't work fsr but that's a problem for another day :/
ok so question
is there any way i could add another lower layer to the arms?
