I wanted to try a lil project after reading over someone's shoulder but I cannot figure out how to get this.. "over volume" of pixels being mapped out (original texture is 34x34) I'm sorry for the lack of vocab but how do I "turn this down?" and get it closer to the 34x34 texture so I could, for example, grab the pixel occupying the eye and extrude it outwards without it being a cluster of 10x10 itself?

I'm not math god or anything but I think 18,350 is much larger than what 34x34 would be (just did the math, I think I'm suppose to have 1156 total pixels on this canvas)
Was the original texture scaled up?
I double checked and this is its file its only 34x34
Sorry, the only way I was able to replicate the behaviour was by using a 170x170 version of the texture :x
This is unresolved and I would appreciate it if someone who might have an idea on how to scale it down or maybe whatever setting I have flipped to where it thinks it needs to this to Off. I don't think I can make my image any smaller and have no other saves of it at variable sizes. I will continue to try youtube for now
Hey Morse weird question but can you do me a quick step by step tutorial (screenshots prefered) on how you do it successfully? You can even use my image, maybe I'm doing a step wrong and confusing this program because all these tutorials are from a year+ ago and this program has changed
Sure, gimme a sec. I've been messing with settings to see if I can recreate the issue.
It's not much, but I'm just going to File > Import > Extruded Texture.
I open the 34x34 image you shared and used Pixels as the scan mode. Worth noting that the preview also shows the pixel grid here so you can see that it's 34x34.
Confirming spawns the expected number of cubes (slightly under the 1156 because it doesn't include transparent pixels).
Right, I've noticed when I try to do the same as you, mine is not shown to be in grid* format in this window, does this have anything to do with the issue?
When you import it, what does the Textures window say for the resolution?
34x34 rip
btw i just wanted to say Ive appreciated ur help so far even if we havent really gotten anywhere yet exactly lol 🤝
Yeah sorry 😦 Ruling out possibilities at least? 😂
yeah i mightve stumbled on a bug lmfao
it looks like i might be a version or 2 behind lemme try an update
LETS GO BABBEEEEE
Ayyy, was it just the version?
might've been! now it's doing this so I gotta figure out if this is user error again or what but this is BETTER
the 18k one made blockbench angry to produce
Scan Mode defaults to Areas, so if you switch that to Pixels you should get the same behaviour as before
damn skippy bo bo bippy!!! Thank Morse!

yeah I was on bb 4.5 something and bb 4.7 is out now THAT'LL DO IT thought the auto updater was on
Wild - I don't see any mention of changes to the texture extrude option in changelogs but obviously something got fiddled with. Glad you got it working!
