#Cow model texture not working

I have a model which is supposed to turn all cows into Kirby, but the texture isn't loading properly. Any ideas why?
File paths:

  • Optifine JEM: root > assets > minecraft > optifine > cem > cow.jem
  • Texture: root > assets > minecraft > textures > entity > cow.png

it can be in the same folder where the model is and it'll work just fine

#

currently it's got the 404 missing texture error, meaning the model is not having any texture being applied to it, not even the default cow texture

#

root > assets > minecraft > optifine > cem > cow.png + cow.jem

ohh interesting

#

Still doesn't work unfortunately

have you checked in the .jem file, using notepad or the like to check if it's actually grabbing the texture?

I haven't, what should I look for

#

ohhh i think i found the problem

#

i think it was named kirby.png and i changed it to cow.png

#

but it didn't update in the jem

somber arch

yeah that's why

#

at the very top it says what texture it's trying to find currently

#

all you need to do is save the texture with the model in blockbench

#

if not then get rid of the texture (in blockbench, don't actually delete it), save, close the model, reopen the model, import the texture, save, and should work

any particular way to close the thread? in mcc, I use the :resolved: emoji but idk how this server works 😅

somber arch
#

it's fine if you leave it open

#

honestly closing the thread just hides it forever from everyone unless searched

mint monolith
#

ah gotcha

#

ig the only reason minecraft commands does it differently is to allow helpers to just easily sort through all the unresolved threads

#

as an active helper there, it would get really old really fast to have to click on every thread and read the conversation to figure out if the person got what they needed

somber arch
#

if only that applied here lol

#

close a thread here and you can't find anything anymore because it basically archives the entire thread rather than just organize it elsewhere

mint monolith
#

well yea, closing is one thing

#

but over there they have a bot that doesn't close it, it just marks it as resolved

#

which works by adding a tag that only the bot can access

somber arch
#

yeah there's no tag here

mint monolith
#

anyway, ty!

somber arch
#

yeah np

not sure what broke, but this time the file path within the jem is accurate

#

i tried to duplicate the files but rename one of them to pig.png and pig.jem, and both mobs turned into the same thing I had at the beginning

#

even once I did ctrl+z until i had it to where it was working before, it still shows the cow as being invalid
