Hi, last night I was working on a custom item for a mod. I started to work on the textures of my item (4 separate textures - per face UV - one for each part of my item - I separated my item into 4 elements for simplicity). I got to a pretty decent point and eventually I saved everything and I closed my pc. Today, when I opened my project, I found that my textures where not in the project file anymore. I tried to import them back, but they're not mapped properly anymore. I've used a lot of cubes for my model, so it would just be easier to start working on my textures from scratch, then trying to individually position every face as it was. I wanna know why this happened and how I can remap my textures as they were, so I don't lose my progress. I did not change the texture's location in my pc, or anything.

🖥️ The Desktop version of Blockbench (by default) creates backups of your projects every 10 minutes.
To access them, go to Help > Open Backup Folder, and search for your backup in the folder.
PS: The interval and how long old backups are kept can be changed in the Blockbench settings (File > Preference > Settings > Application).
📱 The mobile/web version (and the desktop app) saves a backup if the model wasn't saved properly before exiting the app.
You can access the backup on the start screen after reopening the app.
check if there is a backup with the textures properly loaded.
Also, in regards to
I tried to import them back, but they're not mapped properly anymore.
How did you re-import them back? Like, did you load them in as new textures or did you rightclick the "missing texture" textures (in the textures list) and use "Change File" to load the actual textures?
I found a backup with the right textures, thanks a lot. Regarding the re-import, I created totally new textures and then, I used the "Change File" function. When I initially opened the project today, I simply had no textures, not even missing textures, it was as if I never made any texture in this project.
that's weird 🤔
did you save it as .bbmodel or as .json?
and did you save the textures as separate files too?
Had it as .bbmodel and the textures were separate .pngs
