Yes.
The reason your potions look like that is probably cause you made the part before the overrides section like a normal item instead of the specific thing they do in the potion item model
(take a look at the default potion item model and you will see what I mean)

I never said you have to look at textures in the first place. I said to take a look at the model
and the reason you see nothing is cause you need to extract the files from the jar (with winrar or other .zip extraction programs)

alternativey copy and rename that file to .zip instead of .jar and you should be able to just open it like any other .zip folder
