Minecraft 1.21.10 is a new upcoming Hotfix for Minecraft - here's a quick showcase of the fixes! #minecraftemployee

they keep doing this
This is 1.21.7 all over
they can't keep getting away with it
wait, why not just renaming the other thread?
but yes, FINALLY
another, after 10+ longg years
another .10 build!
They usually get closed
re...reopen them
also i think we like to keep them in their own threads to not clutter the pins for porting
iirc tech sometimes pins alot of stuff when hes working on the neo port
i still think we should have a dedi #snapshots channel tho
thread for each version and a thread for neo porting
rather than here in brain storming
we are having a storm of brains though
1.21.21 soon
We have the first .10 since 1.7
well these posts were for brainstorming neo porting
will we get a .11 for mounts of mayhem?
yeah, i get that but they have evolved past just that at this point
its a mix of neo port convos + general snapshot discourse now
would be nice to have neo porting and general discourse in their own place
less clutter and more importantly less scrolling
snapshot discourse is also part of port brainstorming tho...
but yea moving the snapshots to their own forum channel could make sense
Has to be a critical server stability hotfix and then mounts of mayhem
And here's your primer: https://github.com/neoforged/.github/pull/35/files
Basically one addition and one change
Yall this hotfix is so big, Neo will take 4 days to port to it
I don’t need the /j for this
huh?
Now that's weird
They use high numbers to mark prereleases and snapshots
in hex, those are
0x00000305
0x40000112
bit 31 seems to mean "pre-release"
0x112 happens to be 274, which seems oddly related to 774, but 500 isn't a single bit
interesting that that didn't ping me
but ok, no J25 or rebindable debug keys in 1.21.10
Already? WTF. Alright then. What was the critical bug this time?
probably MC-302321, becaus other ones listed there don't seem critical
unless of course it was one of the unlisted ones

"now takes in an a boolean indicating" -> maybe an "an" too much?
<@&1067092163520909374>
looking at the diff it's yet another hotfix that changes like 2 things, should be a straightforward local port and push to prod
yep
getting tired of all this porting, at this rate might as well keep all the repo rules turned off /s
defcon 10!
May have the first ever .11 atp 🥀
mojang, can we get like a 6 month pause on updates. thanks. /hj
poke the version matrix?
I think we can automate these kind of ports (and maybe even the version bumps on kits too)
well
it's only been 7 days
not enough mods ported and besdies we've had enough BCs in those 7 days for mods ported first day to not work today
so
can't really automate it without fully automating it (the tagging prevents it from being a simple PR). and I'd rather not automate it fully to look at the patch diff (if any) and quickly test just in case
no, so a version release daily \O/
you can push the tag before merging the PR and then merge the PR via an action using fast-forward
to be fair, by then it's not really less effort to running ./gradlew setup (-Pupdating=true) && ./gradlew genPatches locally
especially if you still end up decompiling the game locally to still test
the most annoying part has always been juggling the rules around
so many clicks, can't disable all of them at once
Yeah probably no need for VSM
aaand local decomp started
as always gradle decides it suddenly wants to download half of the libs again
I wonder if my mod still functions
Would be nice just changing the version number 😛
Apparently there will be a snapshot later this week
you're kidding
they said it in the post

1.22 at last?
no break for us, no break for mojang employees!
1.21.12
(11 skipped in honor of skipping windows 9 for 10)
someone link the post
And for those of you that were hoping for a Snapshot release today, fret not! We are planning on releasing that one later this week. Exciting times!
😭
woohooo
snapshot comig!!!!!
Please just take a small vacation...
But, like usual, no primer changes for release
Welp, I need two approving reviews to merge this now: https://github.com/neoforged/.github/pull/35
Not sure who to ping for that...
there you have one
so many deprecation notices in the build logs
(from the resource handler stuff)
and I made an effort to fix or suppress the compiler warnings a few months ago......
And have a second “review”
from what i heard next mounts of mayhem might be last update/drop for 1.21 and after that there will be 1.22
somewhere between april 2026 to june 2026
which will be almost 2 years since 1.21 thats crazy
yay, big version numbers!
any breaking changes between 1.21.9 and 1.21.10?
Cow tools???
not in minecraft
or well
I think there's one, entityInside had parameters change
i mean to update the mod
yes there have been breaking changes since 21.9.0-beta
