SS was just added as a seasonal boss, not as full real deal content, Koal's purpose was to breathe additional life into running ss
I mean I guess but I don't think it being seasonal means it can't have money rewards, no? Even if they're not that great
Pzero, snowman brawls are in the same cast
at least in theory until a daily was added during winter events
ss is like the r1 version of horseman though i think it could get an actual useful drop

Idk why everybody is complaining about having to do winter content to do more winter content, SS takes 3-4 minutes to beat even with a bad team, my lfg I had was doing runs in under 2 minutes, it takes longer to grind one hxp from poi’s then it does to get your guaranteed frag/key from a snowglobe chest
Because it feels bad to be forced to do content I don't enjoy to play content I do? idc if it's quick I feel like I'm doing a chore by doing snow spirit and the only rewards I get are literally for koal. There's nothing else, no pgold no cxp no tiered items, and having them would really help if adding an alternate key is out of the question since then there's incentive to run it outside of being a key bot
The incentive is getting brand new rare items in the new strike I feel like
Koal gave ss a purpose before it legitimately was nothing after you got all the event items

If you don’t like the chores just don’t do them, or just join when people are calling them out, that’s how I avoid the burn out doing my daily’s everyday at least

Fractions of pgold/pems/pdias, hard cash, materials - they all give something of value so I feel like my time is respected
Snow spirit gives nothing except koal key materials
Spirits are what I'm talking about and you don't get cryospheres outside of winter

I say to kinda overcome the key problem, make the snow globe a guaranteed charcoal key, and the snow spoils have a chance to drop key fragments to make them a bit easier to grind

Key frags are snowglobe (first win of a day) only fyi
ah, so it's even worse at making me feel like it's worth it
I think part of the displeasure is likely due to the liquidity atm. Running two dozen in a row would be hard. That will resolve itself with time.
I suggest that spoils contain frags at a lot chance to make it not winter locked but eh
I get that, like not everybody wants to run x30 snow spirits at a time, trust me I tried doing it with groups they fall off quickly
literally just add ~3 tiered items to the loot chests and it's fine

This is just pointing out how much ss is just key fuel for koal
ideally it stands on its own but also gives key materials for koal

Even if they were always around, the once a day restriction makes them awkward (assuming holiday spirit didnt exist). For something one-off (gear-ish stuff) the one per day model stabilizes to frag value over time. For something consumable-ish the value stabilizes to the cost of accessible alternatives. For something key-ish with no alternatives things get fuzzy because there is no (natural) feedback loop to drag things back down. X runs can be done per week, and everyone is competing for those limited slots. There is no way for an individual to support the demand of multiple others.
Worldboss mats drop in quantities exceeding what an individual would usually want to use in a week, so they get a pass

The only part I disagree with is competing for limited spots, me and Steve host koal at different times of the day and it seems to take forever to fill all 6 spots, now that could be because of lack of materials, and they can’t afford to provide one mat, but even then mine are free and I still can’t get people to jump in

It is possible for "it takes a long time to fill 6 slots" and "me and the boys love this content and we want to run it a dozen times in a row today and shoot for a leaderboard position" to coexist simultaneously, and when the market is unable to buffer supply to satisfy the latter group, the former is hurt as well.

Yeah which I try to explain to them, and the more you play the more snow perks you’ll unlock to make it easier but they can’t even be bothered, even when it’s free 
Maybe part of that reason too is the item selection? But it was also released on April fools, so are the items Intended to be what they are?

there are some decent and some niche ones
I personally don’t mind them, I already own everything from SS minus the holiday skins but I have plenty of spirits of the holidays to buy them all, just lack the base items
Also the purple ornament has to be significantly lower then jingle bell because I have like 7 drops of the bells and zero of purple
bells are 1/50 purple ornament is 1/250

i really like this strike for the most part but i dont like when strikes have traps that can just straight up kill you
in dungeons its fine and kinda funny but when u have 1 life and ur paying for a key its really annoying to die to something you didnt know was there and get kicked out
Idkj if this was even a trap i died infront of the castle cause a ghast blew up the floor near me and i walked into it while shooting at the ghast and theres just randomly deep lava i cant build out of before i died and that pmo'd me off
and if its supposed to be something like ur meant to learn all the trials and tribulations over the course of many runs then coal already does that just by being a huge map that you couldnt possibly fully explore in 1 run so u spend multiple runs going to every area and figuring out routes
shift the Memory Vault down by one and add a barrier ceiling. i Chimney'ed into the Vault and the whole area instantly flooded, creating the most melee racist experience ever because you can't crit in 1 block deep water and you can't move around.

Also never got an answer on how the snowman boss entry works, it is the one who lands the killing blow to get the bestiary entry or everyone who’s attacking?
if a mob is tagged as a boss everyone who damaged it at least once gets bestiary credit
So it glitched for me :/ cause I never got it
I’ll give it another attempt sometime to see if I can get it to unlock
theres a weird quirk due to minecraft code that if it doesnt take any damage from players in the 5 seconds before it dies, and dies to damage not attributed to a player, it doesn't count for anyone
the boss itself might just be doing something weird i havent seen it at all tbh
It’s such a pain to get up there even with riptide lol, I’ve managed to see the boss two times, but only beat it once with a team of 4
there isnt a bestiary for it

i really like how different koal feels, extraction style strike with r3 level of chaos in r1
i love going to herobrine corner, terth vault or smallpoint severs and just freezing everything with that ice explosion + snow leopard perks
so satisfying getting all those mobs to melt
Spawner placed directly on ground surrounded by gravity blocks should trigger alarm bells to be ready
Lifeline perk is also very useful for when you're still learning the map
lifeline perk useful because i play 35 ehp
its placed 1 block above the gravel

That's not what happened the area Infront of the castle is all cobblestone and an explosion from a ghast fireball revealed the lava underneath
and i didn't see that cause i was busy looking up at the ghast

this is without saturation and you heal 2.814 hp per second on average
quite honestly I don't even know if you need another shaman if you can keep saturation up/use other potions
yeah saturation is 2 hp per second so if you drink a healing rate potion you go positive
ofc that's not sustainable but you can live for a good while
ah. okay you heal 2.978 hp per second per shaman with this, actually
its 2.85 if you're solo
hand of light heals 2.814 hp/s and needs another player though you do have more in-class healing and sustain options

how does the anti lootrun mechanic even work sometimes i can loot chests near spawners and enemies with no problem and sometimes theyre locked even if i cant find any spawners or mobs near it

It will only recast active abilities (those with actual key triggers), abilities that trigger off of other things like arcane strike or soul rend won’t count
I could add it to the ignored abilities list but I don’t think so perhaps
I’m gonna add shaman totems to that list though, people can let me know if anything else should be ignored by reflection

Yes, it’s a passive debuff on yourself

i dont think they get used at all its just a thunder aspect 10 and it has a cooldown
they are quite useless
only mobs you might want to stun are elites and proj taspect doesn't stun elites
lowkey that kinda sucks because you nerf the ability that doesn't even benefit from the recasting
not really a koal question, but: why's the ss lobby jp a discovery and not an advancement? is this a deliberate exception, something for a suggestion, or something you planned to change after it was found?

didnt want to set up an advancement and thought it would be more interesting this way + someone (aubrey?) said something like "i wish there were more parkours not necessarily tied to advancements or anything"

i dont feel liek it went off, yet i died on my "first" death in my koal run just now, took a 5 min clip oif before hand and my hp never reached zero before
just noting this, idk if its an on going issue or not, never had it not work on me before

no, i trashed it after to make sure i didnt goof, and it wasnt of the full run, way like 2 min in before it captured, im not looking for comp or anything was just noting

coal sometimes causes lag spikes, not sure what causes it
yeah the tps was really bad on 2 of 4 runs
also shatterproof worked fine those runs, maybe i did drop to zero and didnt notice

ive noticed this on our test servers as well because they have less ram and they drop to like 10tps on instance start
and also we keep getting log warnings about thousands of entities on valley somehow ._.

it does but it happens more with more players and i dont currently have devs/betaers available to hop on
i tried that a couple times but nothing conclusive
it may also be related to the 6k entities somewhere on valley main world im currently trying to track down 
might be related to port sniffy somehow, noticed drops during first release when clearing it

Make a command block tp you to a randomly selected entity once per second and just watch for 2 minutes, with 6k entities you'll see clustering at the problem area

the other day, someone mentioned gettin' a bunch of lag because there were like
a million guild banners quantum-superimposed on one another
and I figured it was just like a one-time thing that only happens in extremely specific cases
Yeah, I would want it to recast with lowered damage too but I didn't figure out a way to do that (in the 1.5 weeks spent making the next page of perks)
But I might have a way that doesn't suck now
I’m not sure how to do bugs but I’ll just mention in case for notes that snow owl after the weekly doesn’t work in coalrupted sierhaven, assuming this got yoinked by mistake since double jumping was happening in adventure zones
