mato's room imo brings that style back in a good way for new gameplay where its not really linear and requires you to route properly without there being anything unreasonably challenging for f1
i think abundance of creeper spawners in a layout like that helps keep it interesting and fun too

idk i dont think zenith really needs to be extended over and over again, rather just clean up the existing mess with bad trees/curse design and if there really needs to be new roguelike content it should be a new dungeon
there is only so much you can do to keep a single content alive and a18 is already stretching the idea limit

it either disables you completely or does not affect the gameplay whatsoever
i think it no longer is offered if you have swap ability

A : remove the most bottom lava or make it like 1 block wide ( unless it’s only 1 block deep
B : widen the hanging bridge segment
C : create a broken bridge at the stair to allow player to firstly do the top section

what you are telling me is that i should make the player enter from below and go up instead
so that mobs fall on top of them instead of the player having an advantageous position above them
if u can make the hanging mid bit 3 deep with bedrock in the middle i think it'd be nice cause otherwise its kinda cooked
since i assume theres gonna be an elite spawner up there
spawn player in the middle so that they will die either by falling into mobs or mobs falling to them

treasure score spawner(s) would be nice but ofc that depends on how the difficulty of the room changes going forward
mostly cause i feel like apart from this room theres like no rooms with those
side tangent this room imo is one of the best instances of you having to manage cooldowns and pace well while keeping the room and its encounters fun
- the moth spawner at the bottom triggers right as you reach the other elite spawner on the stairs up, essentially forcing ur team to split up in order to not get cooked by a persistent moth that may go into lava
- small gaps allowing you to fall through and burn, but not overrun with lava on the actual path
- general structure remains intact regardless of pernicious/albert/twisted
- twisteds are generally manageable even in precarious situations, but you cant let them live for too long without risking having to take a fight above lava
- treasure score spawners incentivize you to take harder encounters, but there is generally an escape route available due to the mostly linear layout

yeah I based that room off of Durin's bridge in Kazaddum (lotr, where gandalf dies)

then theres rooms like this where i feel the ss speaks for itself
cool in concept but horrid in actual gameplay
especially cause if you do fall into the water theres really no way to recover besides ire or trident
its the one with 2 floors, trapdoors all around and a bubble column to get to the top
idk what to do for that room
the pig spawner on the ground floor triggering almost right as you enter the room is unnecessary i feel, especially since if you actually want to get the spawner you'd end up triggering the moth spawner above it which can keep the room difficult but not where ur getting jumped frame 1

additionally there should be a decently safe way to actually recover from the water without having to ire or trident (if there is a way idt ive ever seen it, probably cause the rooms always half broken

like if ur not a ranged/caster class its just a death sentence in the water
as for the actual room breaking apart often, frankly idk how to fix that either
cause its a mix of embers, pernicious, twisteds, and colossals all chipping away
its rarely as exaggerated as in the screenshot but its still up there
I find that room isn't that anoying cuz caster radius already clear whole room in one combo
for me its always been a case where if almost my whole team has abils then its manageable, otherwise the room disintegrates just cause of how fast the encounters stack especially on the right side
which doesnt make for a particularly fun experience
also this room just needs to be eviscerated

we once had three twists spawn almost back to back to back in that room and it was beyond cancerous

genuinely impressive u managed to suffocate to cryobox
first and last person to do so
another commonly disliked room for a few main reasons
- the evoker spawner in the middle triggers almost right at the edge of the outermost ring
- the evoker itself loves to take a dive into the water, essentially forcing you to follow if you dont want to be constantly harassed, although in doing so you put yourself into a very precarious position of creepers falling onto your head with scarce ways to exit
- the sculk + high shield spawner is just unnecessary man
- abundance of creeper and reeler spawns that completely kill your pace unless you have 100% kbr atleast, accompanied by spawners on the inner rings triggering if you so much as breathe a little too close from the outer ring
- the water section itself; with high legionary and chivalrous especially, mobs almost instantly fall down as they spawn and if u happen to fall down with them, exiting is nigh impossible without movement abilities (granted this might mainly apply to higher asc cause more legionary)

the last point is both a pro and a con, i definitely understand and appreciate the difficulty of avoiding taking a swim, but almost no chance for recovery definitely kills any fun

yeah this is one of the rooms that didn't quite go through the same qa as the others and has been on the list for a while
thats what I thought but I could hear nicknon reminding me in my head thats a bad solution
the reelers are definitely annoying but i never thought this room was too bad
figured the evoker spawning early was intentional and something to play around and the only part of it that really annoyed me was the sculk over the evoker spawner
its faults really start to show when delve points have racked up
and god forbid you dont have a large aoe caster
a bad solution is still more of a solution than no solution
another room that has been mentioned like 50 times, but here are the main flaws concisely
- pernicious absolutely destroys any way to go up
- theres a spawner next to the base of both the staircases, and if an albert spawns it not only destroys the staircase but also most of the floor above due to how compact the path is
- some spawners tend to trigger easily through walls especially if you're on the ground floor, leading to twisteds sometimes spawning either on the opposite side of a wall you have to wrap around the entire room to get to, or a floor above where its free to destroy the terrain while trying to pathfind to a player
- high density closed space encounters such as the middle floor with the dining table tend to easily derail the entire room due to combinations of all the reasons above

sometimes bland is better than gimicky
gimmicks are a gamble
this room has some water at the front right? if shit gets fucked and ur last you can just bypass the room by riptiding out and mining to tbe end, which i have mixed feelings about and feel is not intended
basically: please bedrock portions which are key to actually getting out of the room so we don't have to do some scuffed escaping through water that happens to be there and some digging
old f2 rooms: tunnels, ant nest, abandoned building
new f2 rooms: we gonna put lava there there there oh and don’t forget there
unrelated to the other complaints
It would be cool to see more variety of environmental hazards. 80% of traps are lava pits or tnt. Imo cobwebs can be way more dangerous and well designed long-fall pits, where mobs can still attack you, are more interesting. Dripstone is usually too punishing but would be different

The f3 the planet/black hole pit (the 2 fall pits inside the black hole with the vorpal)
The f3 downwards spiral room (the fall pit with a black glass floor below the final platform)
The f3 circle room with the middle evoker + fall pits
Chokepoints with pits on the sides/middle
The f1 room with the concrete powder cobweb fall trap halfway through
The f1 room with the carpet cobweb fall trap at the very end
The f2 rooms with spider-web cobwebs in midair
Any f2 decorative cobweb if you get knocked into it
Theres plenty of rooms with large falls but they are rarely mob-dense/compacted enough to be dangerous (e.g, f3 epic room falls). And I think cobwebs would be very useful if placed more aggressively near walking paths (not just in fall traps or as decoration)

im late and not sure if anyone has said this but forcing people to use riptide to recover (or have skyhook) is extremely lame and further reduces the accessibility of cz
not to mention if you fall down you probably cant even riptide back up anyways because 1000 mobs fell down to chase you and youre gonna bunp into them
the f3 solar system spiral elite room also is annoying for a similar reason but that room doesnt even offer a solution to get back up at all which is egregious
i have a lot of respect for the rooms that have bubble elevators to get you out of bad spots like that f3 elite room that has the gravel wall with seekers behind it or the f2 elite room with a big glass web/moth at the bottom

i feel like thats just a natural product of people optimizing the dungeon
at some point once you have hundreds or thousands of clears you start looking to save time and be optimal

it was fun that one night were tormenteds got added to cz on accident
the pace slowed down which was refreshing
and suddenly stuff like cover and escape routes were important
for uno floor

if you make shit slower people will complain, if you make it harder to go faster people will complain
they should make a cz room that teleports you to the exit door pre-completed
There is big ass liner f3 room but i see no one complain even those it took longer to clear than uurik f3 spiral room

at best maybe they could cut the stairs for levitation pads or something

tormenteds dont particularly help with room design in particular
rooms often being so small and having minimum bedrocking is the I feel is the main reason why we cannot have torms in cz permanently. things like that will happen to consistently.
that room in general doesent really have any issues I feel like though. (if you can even recognize it, the room is the pit room with leaves and 2 moths at the bottom). But of course adding a nuclear bomb changes that real quick
I know people want torms but room design in particular is a big reason as to why its a bad idea to add them without changing things first, so I figured it was worth mentioning
i remember that was not long after tormented released
they were so hard to kill and in most situations you couldn't even revive people from them
anyway i think torment can be fine if we balance them properly
bug day torment was like 4000+hp with 70% damage reduction
every torment is equal to a f1 boss and it spawns twice per room in a17 😭
i still passed one cz that day carried by NiamN and Oracore owo
more water bubble column to bedrock platforms (near door) would be good as theres only 1 in that room @jolly lake
