Realistically, SWAT members don’t sprint into a house and spray everything, the unrealistic part is how accurate the AI are, if they made the AI a lot less accurate while sprinting or just after sprinting, the game would be more realistic, but, since the game isn’t finished yet, they still need to iron some finer points of the AI out

Realistically, a SWAT member might speed walk, but while inside a house, they will not put their gun down to sprint like a CoD player, they might put the barrel down for muzzle discipline, but rarely outside of that do they ever put down their gun barrel

It’s only used in very fringe situations, so I understand why they wouldn’t add it, and the game isn’t a PVP game, it’s not built to be, PVP might be added, but they aren’t building the game to BE PVP

They have confirmed they'll be adding pvp, which is the reason I and a lot of other people bought it in the first place, and without sprinting the pvp experience simply won't be any good.
But even if we keep the discussion strictly pve-oriented, sprinting would still make the game better, there's no reason that me and my team should be forced to slowly crawl out of a killzone while being ambushed by multiple enemies, instead of quickly dispersing to cover.
I don't think we should be able to shoot while sprinting or anything like that, and there should definitely be a penalty for running about the place (like destabilized aim that Ins2 has when you're low on stamina), but the movement right now feels like we have permanently broken legs.

You really shouldn’t have bought the game just for PvP, and just because a game doesn’t have sprinting doesn’t mean it’s bad or ruined, halo 1-3 didn’t have sprinting and they’re really fun games, but that’s besides the point, the point is, sprinting IS unrealistic from a SWAT perspective, because swat members always keep their gun in a ready position when entering an active crime scene, sprinting would make them put their weapon down, and that wouldn’t be realistic, I understand where you’re coming from with the QoL stuff, but this game is different whereas it’s realism over gameplay, something realistic might make for an annoying mechanic, and I’d honestly take that over making the game easier because no other game has really done that before, it’s what makes RoN different

I would understand if they added it with a stress mechanic, like if you’re being shot at you CAN sprint, but if it was added straight up, like it can be used in any situation, people would use it to speedsoft and then people would start getting insta killed because they’re running around a corner or accidentally shooting civilians because they’re moving too fast and can’t check targets, then people would complain that they don’t have enough time to react, and it’d be a whole new set of complaints

I do agree it should be a part of a suppression or stress mechanic for the swat officers, like if you’re being actively shot at, you’re able to move a lot faster

if it was added straight up, like it can be used in any situation, people would use it to speedsoft and then people would start getting insta killed because they’re running around a corner or accidentally shooting civilians because they’re moving too fast and can’t check targets, then people would complain that they don’t have enough time to react, and it’d be a whole new set of complaints
Some of those would only arise if you could sprint and shoot, which you shouldn’t be able to, and the others could be easily solved by only sprinting in appropriate situations.

I agree and disagree with the desire for Sprint. I find myself running levels over and over because my buddy and I get randomly killed through walls, and restarting some of the larger levels, I really want to be able to sprint to get from place to place, but I also like that we can't Sprint because it forced me to play more patiently. I think that when you are under fire, the "ramp up" time to start moving should be reduced. That would help you get into cover faster
