it fixed it for me believe it or not... the keybind in discord was my side mouse button for push to talk, and we proved through multiple tests it crashed the game if pushed during the 15 seconds prior to loading level (in armoured car)

Whether you benefit from this approach solely depends on if you have massive problems in all levels including the hub/lobby while your hardware is being underutilized.

EGS is not using SteamPipe, and SteamPipe is the reason why modern games (=that are being updated wrong) take hours to install on cheap hardware (i.e. HDD or DRAMless SSD).
Both storefronts use delta patching, however Steam simply creates a separate copy of the old data and mixes them with new data, while keeping the original copy of old content in its installdir up till the new content is finished building.
Makes for double the space requirement in extreme cases and makes it slower than downloading the entire updated game at times due to these copy operations, further exacerbated by some people that, for inexplicable reason, do not even have 60GB free on their drives.

That guy's specific problem is however caused solely by his own actions lol.

If you have really old PC hardware I believe DX11. I have an RTX 2060 and I use DX12, no problems. I'd try out both and see which one works better.

If you use both dx11 and dx12 tho, I got like stuttering issues I think cause the dx12 is trying to use pre-loaded dx11 files, so if that happens there are steps in pinned msgs to fix

Hey guys, im going a little bit crazy here. Game works well when I play by myself, but whenever i go into a public lobby or even private ones, I get these stutter that lasts for 0.5s randomly. Game is running at 120fps wif DX12 (can confirm it is not shader cache). I also checked if I had any packet loss, but even that is cleared. The devs still didn't learn to ship a partial shader cache or how to implement simple shader compilation screen on first boot..
So the first time you launch the game (and after every GPU driver update) you have to build the cache in gameplay, so every new shader will stutter the game.

Run around shooting range and trigger every effect/docal imaginable.
Other than that the game still stutters due to other issues but less so.

Since 1.0 RoN performs poorly, the devs said urgent hotfix related to bug fixes and performance issues will be dropped. Unfortunately the hotfix didn't include that which is sad. So as of rn we all have to wait until they optimize the game properly.

Some stuff you can try to fix this issue:

• Launch with DX12
• Enable DLSS/FSR (This may cause stutter and FPS drop)
• Lower your resolution
• Lower shadow settings
• Change screen mode to windowed fullscreen
• Also you can try changing some stuff in your GPU control panel

I've been having a bug with STEAM and my SSD (already formatted it twice), everytime i'm downloading something, it goes up to 100% usage and a 10 min download turns into a 50min.

You need to opt out of the supporter version, head to the game in your steam library, right click and click on properties and make sure "Betas" is set to "none"

After that your game should update to the current January 19th version if I am not mistaken.

Unreal Engine games have a weird way of updating, it was explained by one person. It takes time but after 5-10 minutes it should lower down to at most 20 minutes. Having RoN on SSD drive will be faster than having it on HDD.

Well that is how steam works. When downloading a game you might not notice it but when you keep looking at how much disk it is using/download speed. You will eventually notice that for some reason for couple of seconds it goes all to 0 and then starts again.

File verification in Steam is bottlenecked by single CPU thread and I/O performance so it can take a while for larger amount of data.

I am pretty sure that the beta participation is when there is a major update happening so the supporters can have a closer look at it before the people who did not buy the supporter's edition. Since those 2 updates were just hotfixes. If I understand it correctly, once the main update has been released to the public you should no longer be in beta participation because that won't get updated until there is another major update.

Unreal Engine games do not work well with something called "SteamPipe" from what someone said and in this result steam creates a backup of your whole game and then patches the files that are updated to the new version but that means it takes longer to check all of those files. However it just spits out random numbers, after like 5-10 minutes it should fix it's self and it probably will tell you it might take another 20 minutes.

This update process is heavily disk and CPU single core dependent.

Hmm it's a bit complex. It's a video upscaling tech that can only be used in RTX cards, it can give you more fps but with less sharper graphics. So it might make things slightly blurrier but you'll get more fps at least. Try setting it to quality for least blurry experience. AMD has theirs too called FSR (You can see it in the options) it can be used by any card either NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel. I suggest searching youtube for more info.

If it takes literal hours then that's your slow SSD or CPU.
If it shows some high number but actual install time is in minutes, then that's just the Steam thing calculatin it based on momentary data (there are moments when there is almost 0 activity on disk so Steam sometimes calculates this into ridiculous number).

Anyone noticed issues with being stuck on buckshot? In single player it works fine, but when I connect to a buddy's multiplayer I'm stuck on buckshot. I switch all my ammo to slugs and the gun only shoots buckshot and shows buckshot on ammo checks. if you are running DX11 on modern hardware, that's not a dev problem, that API exist for backward compatibility.

Also, the game stutters in places long after your shader cache is built, as it's not that hard of a process and you can build most of it running around training room.

Anyone have the issue of playing and loosing control of your movement briefly? My character will start to move in a direction of its own, typically not able to change where I am looking while this happens. Typically lasts only a second or two, but has caused me many issues while in a tight spot or firefight.

I just now noticed, while watching a youtube video on my second monitor, when this happened and my character started to move on its own, my video also started to buffer for a second.

Due to the video buffering at the same time my character looses input, Im assuming its a PC issue rather than a game issue, but I am unsure.

Whenever i launch ready or not my gpu % goes to 100, the fans go really loud and it becomes way too hot. Its clear something is wrong, and this is even when im in the menu screen. I changed my graphics settings to as low as possible and still encounter this problem. Any other game ive tried preforms really good tho, i can run rdr2 at 4k with 100+ fps and theres no overheating and the fans sounds fine. Is there an issue with ready or not or is there something i can tweak to make it better? (ive tried both direct x 11 and 12)

Sorry I meant to say some of the things to somone else. Are you sure the game is launching on your GPU? You can tell if you monitor your GPU usage and temperature; increased is using and undchanged is using integrated graphics from your CPU. You can try this:

go back to windows (leave the game)

nvidia control panel -> Manage 3D settings -> tab "Program Settings" -> add Ready or Not as a new game -> go to "OpenGL Rendering GPU" and change from "Auto-select" to your dedicated GPU.

launch the game

Otherwise make sure your render resolution is set to 100% or lower in the settings

If that fails as well you can go to C:\Users...\AppData\Local\ReadyOrNot\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and delete the GameUserSettings.ini file to reset your settings

For this game, it's not optimized enough so I would say limit it to your monitor refresh rate, or less (unless you have a 240hz monitor)

C:\Users...\AppData\Local\ReadyOrNot\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini contains your settings options, including graphics. I can’t check right now where it is in there but you can lower resolution and render resolution in there, which are the biggest factors in gpu usage

But you need to limit your fps otherwise the game will almost always always run until it hits 100% usage on something

And you should make a fan curve, set to appropriate speeds based on noise and temperature. No one can tell you what levels those are, since the noise is specific to your setup and environment. You’ll have to play around to see what temperatures you hit and how loud it sounds to you

You can limit framerate via V-sync or using in-game limiter as a workaround before you try and fix the cooling.

I should note that modern components are only in danger if they hit about 90 degrees Celsius (at which point they turn themselves down or off altogether), and I doubt anything is actually burning. Sometimes they do put out a hot electronic smell but it’s normal

And those other games probably have v sync on or a frame cap already in place, so you didn’t notice

Other apps are irrelevant because each and every one behaves differently. Feel free to use Furmark in Extreme Burn-In mode to see where it goes.

If it is actually overheating it's down to your cooling solution being the problem.

To clarify, only use furmark or other stress testers to see how hot it gets when you have a decent curve in place. They are designed to max usage in every regard to get it as hot as possible to see clock speed and temperature

The hotspot is within specs here no matter what i do, which is weird because i know this second-hand card is in need of repasting and remounting with hotspots reaching into 100°C during full load.

It's not the game, and fan curves are only useful if you know your card is not overheating.

You have to actually motitor the temp (hotspot and edge temp) to see what's goingon.

Furmark is a stress test which will also show histogram of edge temperature, it will not show you the hotspot though the fan curves on AMD cards are virtually always tied to edge temp.
I'm using MSI Afterburner to feed data into RTSS overlay (seen on the screenshot above) so i can monitor basically anything with it.

Hello. After a pause of three months today I ran the game again.
I got 120+ FPS, but the game freezing like hell, sometimes it drops to 27, which feels like 2 FPS TBH.

Depending on how your software is us set up, it will occupy some portion of RAM and VRAM, so if you have mismatched build and small pagefile, it can crash OOM.

Again, that depends.

Replay/Shadowplay style recordings are usually caching into RAM.
In AMD drivers and OBS (i think) you can switch the cache to disk, or use normal recording that is caching to disk by default.

You can buy more RAM also or you can bump up pagefile size in Windows.

It’s not even that. Everything else has updated completely fine. Yet Ready or Not will be DAYUMED to act normal, it don’t matter what I do. Though I am trying to figure it out, I may or not have said what I said earlier out of anger. And for all I know, it could just be Valve neglecting various issues like they always do. As Steam is notorious for this shit, the last thing I’m gonna do. Is override some shit. And delete the files outside of Steam, therefore it is a completely fresh install.

If it is stuck installing (therefore the delta is already downloaded) it's the copy operation that's taking so long.
And that is always caused by slow I/O performance of disk(s) the game is installed and being updated on, further exacerbated by bloated install size.
Punishes trash OEM SSD because they never have a DRAM cache.

Ah yes the typical person who blames everything on a company. Go for a refund if you want, but if you own it for 2 weeks you don't get anything. And the company will hardly go bankrupt when they create a sucessor to SWAT 4 and this being one of the only modern games in the tactical genre.
