When I play the game, the black screen keeps coming out

Same here before 1.0 my fps where 140 to close to 200fps but even on maps like the drug house at night my fps go as low as 20 with my charger pluged in

But i noticed for example on the drug house i said before, the room where is the methamphetamine right by the attic thats a place where my fps drops the most

Well, on certain maps there are certain angles/locations that if you look at it significantly reduces your frames. Even though in your point of view you are looking at a wall, you can be looking at some texture that is behind the wall which causes significant frame drop.

That may be bad optimization on Void's part. I would advise you to simply wait out as an update will probably roll out at some point addressing these issues and fixing them to make the maps more playable.

Hi everyone,

I'm coming across an issue that I haven't been able to troubleshoot and looking for some help. I've had a few crashes to desktop whilst playing RoN, but things stabilized until 'Carriers of the Vine'. Every single time I've tried playing on this map, my monitor cuts to black, my PC completely locks up, and the only way to get back to my desktop is via a restart.

I spent three hours on 'Relapse' and experienced no crashes, and I cannot reproduce this crash if I'm playing other games. My drivers and OS are all updated, and no particular graphic settings seem to affect stability on CoTV. I've also tried verifying files and DLSS on or off had no affect either. Absolutely love the game except this crash on CoTV. ;)

My setup:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
GPU: Asus TUF OC 3080
RAM: 32 GB DDR4-3600 CL16
MOBO: Asus TUF X570-PLUS (WI-FI)

Have you tried verifying your game files? Corrupted files might cause crashes especially if you crash in the same map multiple times it could be an indicator for corrupted files

Yup, I've tried verifying files as well, no joy. Currently testing out deleting the Ready or Not folder in localappdata. No clue if this is a viable fix, but I'm trying it nonetheless.

For replay mode, how do you control the speed of the camera using the WASD keys. No matter how much I scroll the mouse wheel down it never slows the camera speed when using WASD. I even try rebinding the key, is there something I'm missing?

So for some reason whenever I boot up singleplayer I keep getting sent back to a specific save, it resets all of my gear back to that specific point too. I can still unlock stuff in multiplayer but then some of the items get locked back up when it reverts the save. You and your friend should both have server-side checksum disabled in gameplay options and if your friend is trying to load a modded map and you don't have it than you won't be able to play it until you install said map yourself. Aside from those there should be no reason why you'd be experiencing crashes due to your friend having mods and you not having them. Normally if server-side checksum is enabled and or you're loading into a modded map you don't have the game will just kick you to the main menu.

Xeons are not a great choice for gaming by default due to low boost ratios.
Though the minspec for RoN is old so you should be OK there.

By the extremely rought estimate that TechPowerUP GPU database provides the GPU you have is slightly above minspec.

So if you treat your PC as it is (minspec), it should run the game, how good depends on your settings and intended FPS target.

I happen to have the same CPU and that hasn't given me issues so that's off the table. Your GPU is above the min spec but I wouldn't exactly count on it to run RoN in its current state. I have a few more things.

1. Is your game on an SSD
2. Are you 100% sure there are no mods

I'm 100% sure there is no mods, because I have done a whole reset on my computer and checked if there is some. Only mods I find are the game .pak files itself, but I have tried to remove them and it doesn't open the game at all. Also my game is on my SSD. It's Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB

I know you tell me you have no mods but I gotta be sure. So don't delete the "WindowsNoEditor" PAK files those are native. And needed. But try deleting the Mod.io folder (in the PAKs folder) if its there. Then verify your files

Right click the game on Steam, select manage, then select open local files. Afterwards, go back to Steam and select manage, then uninstall the game on Steam.

In file explorer, go back to just steamapps\common\ and delete Ready or Not

Hit the windows key and type %localappdata%, then delete the ReadyorNot folder

Then reinstall the game on Steam.

I tried every thing to find a solution,...

And finally i found one that helped me,...

I disabled the CPU Gaphic engine in my BIOS ,...
somehow was Steam thinking it is my main Graphicscard and i think that this brought the issue,...

After dissabling that CPU own Graphic in BIOS,.. the game starts fine with DirectX 12 option ,...

I play RON of PC and Laptop. I play PC primarily, I have almost all cosmetics and missions unlocked on PC and not on laptop. I jumped on my laptop yesterday and it had me starting where I left off on my laptop, but once I jumped on my PC later that day my PC was showing the same progress as my laptop for the first time, basically I lost a lot of cosmetics/unlocked maps on my PC. Confirmed, it's a mod.io issue. I can launch with my paks after unsubscribing from all my mod.io mods. They were all maps, so the issue is oddly a map mod.

When I duplicate my screen to my capture card (acting as a 2rd monitor), I get severe screen tearing and my refresh rate drops from 144hz to 60hz. I think this is because Ready or Not uses the capture card as the main monitor instead of my display, because when I just extend my screen and do not duplicate, my refresh rate is back to 144hz. Is there a way to select the display Ready or Not is using in game or in the files? Does anyone else have a similar issue?

Well, I can assure you that the game does not remove your saves on it's own, and the problem that happened to my knowledge occurs consistently only if you start RoN on a different PC/laptop or when steam cloud is not working properly. May have been a game bug; again I don't know for sure.

playing ron for the first time in a while and my fps is really inconcistant. i got a 4070ti and an intel i5 13600kf with a 5.4 gh clock. my thermals are just about 40 C on both my gpu and cpu and the usage is around 30% for both on epic settings with the resolution at 150%. not sure whats up because it seems my cpu and card arent doing as much work as they should be doing

if you are starting the game with directx 12 you need to turn on hardware acceleration gpu scheduling in your graphics settings

It is 1.6GB delta (difference between old and new content), spread in multiple PAK chunks.
Whatever is unmodified in those PAK chunks have to be copied into new one (in ..\SteamApps\Downloading) + the delta, and only then it is moved instead of the old file.
Consider your largest game you currently have installed in as the LEAST amount necessary for game updates.

As others have said, you shouldn't have this low amount of free space to begin with.

Launch using GeForce experience if you have a GTX card or RTX card it optimises your graphics setting to give you good FPS but good quality.

Quick question, I have attempted to update the game 3 times now. I get through the download, I have the space, but when it gets to installing it completely freezes. I'm not the only one of my friends that have had this issue today. Does anyone know a possible fix?

I've been able to play before, so I am very confused as to why this might be happening.

I have attempted the follow, actually I may have fixed it.

• Install Pause and Resume multiple times
• When that failed I killed steam, and deleted all RoN files from my pc, proceeded to restart steam
• After I restarted steam the install tried to complete itself and failed. At that point I was able to "uninstall" the game since all of the files had already been deleted

Hello guys, I was playing this game in the beta version on epic settings without any problems. I installed the game a few days ago to check out 1.0, but now I can't even play the game on the lowest settings. In DX 12, I'm getting an out of video memory error when the loading screen reaches 100%. I'm getting same error in DX 11 too but this time its few seconds after loading the police station. Also the game somehow uses 100% of my GPU even in the menu, its very strange. I have already tried the solutions in the pinned messages and the solutions in the steam discussions, if you have any other solutions that can fix this please let me know.

Because i offered this workaround to friends so i can play with them (2/4 had an inexplicable performance issue), one tested Steam overlay and the other did not yet respond since.

Hey guys I’m having a BIG issue with launching the game. I played last night 0 issues and today it seemed like there was an update trying to install. I let it run and it legit sits on this screen. Even when I turn off auto update. Close steam etc. I CANNOT uninstall the game at all. Steam says it’s busy because it’s glitched. The game will also sit on the 100% verified but never move off and let me launch it

I did file integrity after deleting files off the Pc but steam still forces this to be the main task upon opening. I might try to uninstall steam and redo it but considering I did a full install, have storage, proper Pc specs. It REALLY sucks that I can’t play and show it to my friends etc. idk if this will happen in the future and it forsure is a big reason people would return it. I only have 4 hours in and I really enjoyed the game but having this issue reoccur is going to be a problem. Lastly I did update and uninstall other games in my PC so I know steam is technically working fine it’s just this game

I’ve tried doing file verification, I’ve tried uninstalling from my Pc itself. What happens is, even with no PC files of it, steam loads up the basics and fills in the blanks

Have you tried clearing Steam's download cache? It's in the settings. You will need to sign into Steam again, but it should fix the "cannot uninstall because the game files are busy" glitch.

Ok so heres my steps i took

Clear cache as mentioned through Tom. (it may say tring to stop install of game and wait, just close the tab and go to next step 2. Close steam app through task manager 3. Restart steam app and IMMEDIATELY go to your "installing" files on bottom tab 4. Hit pause as soon as you can. while paused and it shows "paused" above item, Hit UNINSTALL 5. Let Uninstall run and you should be free of the Lock on "installing".

Sorry for the spam on chat but i have a feeling a good amt of ppl will have this, its a b*tch to process but Tom helped out the Cache and then you gotta beat the system before it auto installs more BS, Once again i had the game fully instaleld yesterday and this popped up out of the blue and completely wasted time process and cant even uninstall. multiplayer mods don't really work. you get kicked out all the time,

Losing connection to the host happens to everyone, not just you and there is no clear answer for the issue.

The checksum mismatch is set by the server host, they can disable it or enable it. Enabling it means you need same mods as the server host. Disabling it means everyone with any mods can join your lobby.

The loading may not be perfect and admittedly takes a bit but you are highly overexaggerating as to how long it actually takes. The performance issue is adrressed and will get fixed in the next 2 hotfixes.

Emailing Void will not get you an immediate answer and probably won't since to my knowledge it is about business inquiries. Your normal game issues should be refered here where, if any fixes available will be outlined to you if a community/staff member knows them.

Of course I understand your concerns and unfortunately not everyone knows about these fixes. The developers might, but it is hard to get them to answers these channels as they are working on the game if they are not on their free time.

There are things bugged and need fixing, that is what the hotfixes are primarily supposed to be focused on.

The problem you are having is for the server host, if you join lobbies that have server-side checksum enabled and you have any form of mod it will kick you out. The server host needs to disable that setting as people with mods will not be able to join

Server side checksum forces players to have the same mods/no mods as the server host. If there is a mismatch and your paks folder contains something the server host does not have it will kick you out.

The server host, the player who created the lobby has to disable server-side checksum otherwise it will kick others who do not have mods. (It is generally recommended to have this setting turned off, as there is a possibility of this kicking you even when you have no mods)

I assume you are joining public lobbies, and it is common for these people to not touch their settings or have it turned on to keep players with extremely modded games that could impact the server lobby out.

Hello, I have a question because before the update the game was working normally, but after that I can't play it because it kept screwing up the game. And no matter what I run, whether dx11 or dx12, I always have an error (all computer requirements are above the minimum)

Alrighty, just remember you can copy and save your save files from appdata and store them in a separate folder. That way if the game crashes and deletes your data again you don’t have to start from scratch

the fix for the update failing, the only way i've been able to find anyway, is to

1. exit steam thru task manager
2. relaunch steam and pause the download before it can start auto downloading
3. clear download cache (this might take a second)
4. start steam again and again pause it as fast as u possibly can.
5. uninstall the game (if it hangs on the uninstall, u can do it thru windows control panel)
   you probably have to relaunch steam again if you uninstall thru control panel. redownloading the game is the fastest way to fix it

verifying files won't do anything but try to download redistributables over and over again, the only other way to fix it is to wait the 7-9 hours for the game to fix itself and finish the download. ive had to do this FOUR times now and all of my friends have had to do it at least once, the uninstall is the fastest and most consistent way u can fix

ok so for 2 weeks havent been able to play. last night we figured out why it crashed EVERY time the game switched from lobby to the armoured car....... when I pressed my "push to talk" button on side of mouse (Discord keybind), the game would crash. It was tested several times, to verify, when I was on VOX, it didnt happen, only when I pressed button to talk during that 15 - 20 second window... Why that button crashes the game I have no idea.. but it might help someone else.
