I have reworked my steps for fixing this, it doesn't work for all but most. Please follow them in order

1. Delete all mods, that means any modded PAK files and any Mod.io mods.
2. Verify your files to make sure nothing is missing or corrupted
   2.5. Move game folder to an SSD (optional)
3. When launching the game make sure that there are no unnecessary tasks running.

As I said above this is not a one fix fixes all. But from experience it fixes most issues.

Man. A new one every like 15 minutes. I'm sorry all these are really fascinating. Though usually I can think of something for new ones. But I'll type below my thoughts.

I believe that this can only be one thing. I don't know if it has a name but some games tend to load in and fill the screen, but it is actually in windowed mode. So it is smaller than what it is actually filling. So the borders are smaller. My only issue with this is there might not be a fix. My best idea would be to delete game save data. It includes settings so maybe it would work. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

ALT+ENTER to force Windowed mode, then you can set up your screen res and screen mode accordingly.

UE4 is caching last used screen settings so if you modify your setup (different monitor and whatnot) it does this.

Like the texture streamer settings you (or somebody else) did previously, except that Vsync nonsense.

I guess you were never there when the completely oblivious customers shoot you a ticket with a visual issue that cannot be seen under normal conditions and then claim you they do not have any engine.ini mods 💀

Without knowing what the crash is (and you cannot know, because Void decided to use proprietary crash reporting tool that obfuscates rather useful data points of normal UE4 crash handler.. and they do not have traditional UE logs either..), it's gonna be hard.

Does it happen when your friend is the one to host the lobby ?

Are you 1000% sure you do not have mods, have you tried to launch in Safe Mode yet ?

Currently there's an issue that causes the game to stutter or have inexplicably low framerate.
Monitor what you hardware is doing at all times.

Firstly, try to launch the game directly through the shipping executable in ..\SteamApps\Common\ReadyOrNot\ReadyOrNot\Binaries\Win64,
Secondly, if it will improve framerate at all, go back to normal Steam launching method and investigate what the issue is (command line, Steam overlay, etc.).

In theory you should be okay since your CPU and RAM meet the recommend requirements for the game. The GPU is a bit on the weaker side but you can make concessions with the settings and user FSR upscaling to mitigate that.

Res scale does not touch UI slates, neither does DLSS.

FSR is the only one blasting UI elements into oblivion.
That or base game resolution isn't set correctly.

Hi. Update my previous post about getting black screen when launching RoN. So I have tried everything, remove all mods in localappdata folder and Steam folder. Reinstalled and verified the game. Tried DX11,DX12 and safe mode. Still same result. It worked fine before update to 1.0.
BUT, I tried install it on my laptop which has lower GPU and CPU and it worked! (?) So Im gonna try to format my PC and install RoN from scratch. I hope this helps

So both DX11 and DX12 are graphics API. The difference between DX11 and DX12 is, DX11 is a high-level API and DX12 is low-level API. That means DX12 allow game developers to target optimization closer to hardware, reducing the overhead incurred from the API and graphics driver.

Also DX12 allow parallel compute, which means you can compute basically multiple data at once. While DX11 is like a queue you need to do one thing at a time.

DX12 also offer multiple new features such as:
DirectX ray tracing (DXR)
Variable rate shading (VRS)
Mesh shaders
Sampler feedback

Most games these days performs better with DX12. Here's a lil note if you want to be a game developer, DX12 is harder to work with than DX11 but that's not our job to think about it. 🙂

Also a good feature in DX12 is writing drivers is easier. If you look at Intels new GPU "Arch" namely. When they released the GPUs the cards barely worked on DX11 and DX10..9.. etc if not at all, but they worked quite well on DX12 games.

So in order for DX11 to work well, you need to optimize the drivers for the said game for optimal performance.

Do take this for a grain of salt though. I'm not writing drivers for a dayjob.

Bought the game. Playing multiplayer, mic and receiving voip works, but suddenly, it just stops working. I can see the mic on the left popping up for both myself and others. But i cannot hear anyone, and no one else can hear me. As stated, it is working fine, then it doesn't. 2. Type in 'defrag' and click the first app that comes up

now depending on how many storage drives you have it may be difficult. But you need to find the one that RoN is installed on, the the app will say if that drive is an SSD or HDD.

Also DX12 allow parallel compute, which means you can compute basically multiple data at once. While DX11 is like a queue you need to do one thing at a time.

Sampler feedback

Most games these days performs better with DX12. Here's a lil note if you want to be a game developer, DX12 is harder to work with than DX11 but that's not our job to think about it. 🙂

Hi, When playing the Valley of the Dolls mission I encountered an issue I can’t find anyone else expieriencing. I cannot get an S due to a bug with the soft objectives. When I get to the computer soft objective there is another soft objective there that shouldnt be there namely to “collect hardrives” when I use this the computer objective would dissapear and also the report pictures in the basement would dissapear also. Then when I got the computer instead of the hardrives the basement soft objective was achievable but then the mission wont complete on its own. Based on the specs i reckon your GPU driver keeps timing out because your GPU is unstable (such is life with that powerhog of a GPU)..
The only bad thing about this is that due to VOIDs inexplicable need to obfuscate the info by disabling logs in Shipping and using their own custom crash reporter, the players are left with no debug options (shoul've taken a lesson from other UE4 titles, for example SCUM where vast majority of issues are resolved within the community).

Basically for games who already support DLSS 3.5 (that has frame generation option in-game settings), so you can achieve frame generation by converting such DLSS switch to FSR3 switch and get frame generation on non Nvidia 4*** cards. It's useless if game does not support DLSS 3.5 (with frame gen) which is the case with RON game.

I even disabled replays, redownloaded drivers, cleared storage, etc. My frames when playing by myself reach upwards of 150-160, but the moment I join an online server and try to play with friends, those frames quickly drop to around 30. I've done some benchmarks before:

1. singleplayer practice in headquorters: ~180fps
2. multipler in headquorters (as a host, alone): ~140fps
3. multipler in headquorters (host/client, with other players): ~90-110 fps, very inconsistent.

The only thing you can do is to get FSR3 mod to compensate for unused GPU, so it gets used to generate frames, eventually utilizing your GPU basically to the maximum as well as (almost) duplicating your FPS. 🙂

Oh you want to replace your GPU, RAM, and CPU, then just replace it, RAM and CPU don't have drivers, only GPU. If you wanna replace it to an nvidia GPU then install "Geforce Experience", you can download and update your GPU driver regularly there

Here's a summary of things you need to do:

Yeah your CPU is literally the min system req, but the thing is the game is poorly optimized rn so we can't really know what is the actual min system req. Lowering your resolution to 720p would def help your GPU, DLSS/FSR will also help you.

The way upscaling (DLSS/FSR) works is they will let the GPU render your game with lower resolution and use AI to fill the missing pixels to make it the wanted resolution, but in this game it may cause stutter for some weird reason.

howdy, purchased and installed RoN yesterday, installed, have an issue with game crash upon entering the mission. It happens under a certain ciircumstance - My friends are inviting me to join them, I can enter the "lobby" get loadout etc, ready up, games progresses to the pre match state (inside the vehicle), as soon as the actual Mission starts the game crashes. If I join a random game, this doesn't occur and the game starts fine. I have followed the steps of the pinned messages for game crash, no effect (including fresh install). tried all 3 direct x options , no effect. Running an i7, 2080ti, 36gb ram. All drivers/Win up to date, installed on SSD. Any help please??

I just got to the hotel mission with the war vets and even though it's not a huge map, whenever I look in a direction where there's more objects to load the game just stutters to a near stop, it's unplayable at Low settings on a PC that should be able to run it no problem

Hello, I'm having an issue with dwm.exe faulting while I'm playing ready or not which is causing the screen to go blank and the fans to spin up pretty severely, forcing me to do a hard reset. I looked into the nvidia forums and there were some very old threads (several years ago for much older driver versions than the current ones) about needing to revert to older nvidia driver versions to prevent faulting of dwm when using specific applications. Posting here because I don't know if this is a known issue with RoN, and I'd like to know if this is possibly caused by something else. The log for the fault in event viewer is EventID 1000 faulting application name: dwm.exe. My device specifications are: Windows 11, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080Ti, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, playing in DX12. I have also experienced the dwm fault when running the game in DX11. So far I have tried disabling steam overlay, updating nvidia drivers, and running RoN in safe mode, but am still experiencing the issue. Also did a full scan for malware on my PC since that was a pretty common explanation I found for DWM faulting, but I'm fairly confident this is caused by RoN since I haven't experienced the issue in any other game or application.
