Their refund policy is not the law though. Any digital payment for any goods can be disputed with your bank.

I disputed at least 2 purchases from stores that refused a refund, the bank sided with me and got me my money back.

When you dispute charges through your bank and the merchant youre disputing is a reputable service like a gaming platform your odds of getting a refund are pretty low unless you can prove some sort of misuse of your card or fraud occurred.

Ive handled a lot of scam reports and even then the bank is hard up to give you your money back.

I mean, games are more tricky, but it still happens. In any case the context was that they did not want to deliver a product that I paid for, meaning they did not uphold their delivery time

Ive had my identity straight up stolen and it was easy to undo but the scam calls I've had to handle usually involve some sort of elder financial exploitation like romance scams or what not and the banks answer initially is usually "you made a choice to part with your money sorry"

That would fall under what a bank would consider a form of cut and dry breach of contract, yeah. That'd be why the refund was processed so easily

Shitty refund policies absolutely suck but disputing charge with your bank on the grounds of buyer remorse will A possibly hurt you in future claims, and B could lead to consequences on said gaming platform.

If the bank refunds you, the platform now has to find a way to recover a product you no longer paid for.
