I had this same issue back then and if I remember correctly it was primarily the game itself having connection issues. Maybe check crossplay is off or on for both and if that isn’t the case it can help if your regions are set to close together but I doubt it will make a change

If neither of those are the case then the games just being weird. It likes to be really buggy sometimes
