I started to enjoy using the g3 a lot more though, dealing with overpenetration, accounting for barrel length while breaching doors and dealing with melee suspects, and of course, 1 shot takedowns, make it incredibly fun and rewarding for me.

not really, helmets are primarily made to handle ricochets and shrapnel, even the altyn or ronin helmets can only really absorb handgun rounds (and some bird/ buckshot) effectively. There is a small chance that your hepmet could break apart on impact though which would get rid of some of that energy and hopefully help you survive

That's military problems though, SWAT would be more concerned with overpenetration from a full powered round than anything else because they deal heavily with civilians.

That's why we have that revolver btw, gign uses it as a sniper because 357 is less likely to penetrate through an assailant and exit compared to something like 7.62x51
