It used to stun suspects in 0.5 seconds, most suspects couldn't clear the 8m radius in time while trying to escape.

Right now the radius is 3m for launchers and 4.5m for the throwable nades.

BUT the stun time is 2 full seconds on Standard and 4 seconds on Hard, meaning it CANNOT even stun suspects before they simply step two feet to the side.
x4 and x8 the buildup required for a stun effect

The “spalling” effect is just oncoming bullets getting their damage ratings match a small frag grenade explosion causing chip damage. Doesn’t have a durability percentage or armor shatter like ceramic (or so I’ve been told or from what I’ve read)

There’s this one armor revamp mod that makes it more durable but inflicts a higher movement penalty to the wearer. And the spalling effect is replaced with a durability percentage starting at 95% and then decreasing to 50% after it’s taken enough damage

The spalling only affects those nearby, not the user, and it's only anyone shoulder to shoulder with you.

Once you get used to the acceleration, it's just the best option by far
