when i got the game i started by playing the missions on hard so i could learn better habits / how to move around safely. obviously got my cheeks split heavy, but when you switch back to standard it kinda slows down and is easier to adapt. also use your squad and the little door mirrors whategver they're called; theyre only as useful as you make them which can be not at all or really strong. only move through rooms / in general at a speed that you can process whats going on.

Maps like a lethal obsession dont use gas because the suspects have gas masks or use stingers on maps like sinuous trail as the suspects have anti flash goggles, bring a lockpick gun for more quiet door opening, AP rounds for missions with armoured suspects JHP for missions without armoured suspects, door wedges for making sure you dont get flanked. The game is built on you using your loadout to your advantage to even an uneven playing field
