This has been a thing since time immemorial. Oldest game I play that did it was Warframe with their founders pack, which gave founders an exclusive "character" that will never be publicly available. The justification for this being that without the founder money, the game probably wouldn't exist.

Sights are zeroed for 50 meters so anything under that, you can expect the results you've experience. Lasers I can't speak towards as I rarely ever go hip firing, usually only do so in point blank and hectic situations but canted aiming with laser is far more accurate than the other two and is my preferred go to.

it purely depends on whether or not you like the weapon's feel i think. most of the ARs use 556, most of the SMGs use 9mm and all shotguns use 12g. it purely depends on whether you like it or not tbh. for instance, i prefer the m4a1 with the usp 45
