probably has been answered before but i couldn't find it anywhere, have the devs considered branches in steam? Holding of UE5 support to ensure modding support is thoughtfull of them but they could do both. Either keep the UE4 version as mainline and provide a UE5 branch or vice versa. That would essentially accomplish both, anyone who uses mods would be happy and people who don't - get their hands on UE5 version. I dont see how keeping support for ue4 is gonna be any helpful for modding. Game is as barebones as it comes for modding experience and without an SDK theres not much to it

XX80 is top tier, XX90 is pintless because you are underusing its lifecycle, you'd need to wait for about 2-2.5 generations to see the performance drop off below the acceptable line and in that time new features come along and if you change gpu early you have essentially wasted a chunk of its lifecycle, xx80 is a golden line, or a notch around it on cost effectiveness scale.

Well the announcement said that UE5 version is ready, the blocker is modding support. The ue4 branch needs to only be kept until that blocker is removed, then it can be nuked. As far as i ma aware the current game build is dated February, so unless updates to it are actually planned there would be no need to maintain it at all

From the announcement i had gotten the impression that the next planned update would be ue5

It would divide the player base till the moment ue4 is nuked but i dont see how that is a bad thing or a thing you need to account for at all, the community will be reunited at the moment of nuking the ue4 branch

But if the modding scene is as barebones as Blackbird said, the ue4 users would be a minority

Also then there is the point of modding tools. I think there arent any for UE5, and existing ones don't have good/complete support for it is because there aren't enough UE5 games. For modding tools to exist there needs to be a person with the knowledge how to make them, the passion for a game and enough free time to actually see it through. It's a game of chance, so the more UE5 games there are, the more chances there are for UE5 tools to be made

If AI gets balanced to be more tough, it should be organically tough, not "you exist in my general vicinity so you're dead" tough

At least imo, any part of game balance is a tight rope and balacing this sort of stuff is harder than you think

Personally, I think the AI atm is fine and pretty tough as is

At best they're deadly and demand respect and at worst they can still be somewhat unfair, but it's not to the same degree as before so I think it's a improvement

I feel like us getting away with yolo clearing rooms more has to do with us being good at the game rather than the AI being easy
