on my setup and my friends setup, running it on dx12 improves fps over dx11 and removes a lot of stutters

its different for everyone since everyone has different machines/ drivers etc

Anyone here versed in editing the controls? I'm having issues with rebinds and the tutorial. I'm coming to the game as an avid tarkov player and I just wanna get the control scheme closer to what I'm used to, but when it prompts hold breath/steady aim in the tutorial it locks up and I can't seem to figure out why. It works in actual missions, but I want to complete the tutorial and understand the systems.

Wild guess here, but have you tried to consistently run the game on DX12 ? Because I remember that DX11 pre-loaded shaders as the API itself, but after DX12 the developers have to deal with shader caching themselves. Maybe if you run DX12 more for a couple of the levels, the stutters and lag spikes might go away as the shaders are loaded. A friend has the same 3060 Ti as I do and his game runs like shit on DX12, but mine runs fine after dealing with the stutters and spikes previously. Maybe the game stopped running so shit, because the shaders that the renderer needs to call and load are already cached.
Also, you can disable the Control Flow Guard from Exploit Protection on the ReadyOrNot-Win64-Shipping.exe, that's apparently a crux with many DX12 games when it comes to frame stability.

the reason why dx12 is usually more problematic is not because dx12 is bad or worse. it's just closer to the metal and requires more work from the devs to get the performance they want, and since that's pretty hard to do, optimization might not be as it should be
