I believe VOID's senior animator has already left.
Hesistation animations do look pretty good but overall most suspect animations look insanely janky (especially those shitty hostage taking animations and long surrender animations)

And i like the long hesitation animations, it builds tension
I'm not sure exactly how many staff members VOID have lost, but I feel their technical capabilities have been declining sharply.
Well it would if the ROE system forced you to wait them out
most of the time the civillian isn't even lined up with the animations and they die after the animation is over rather then when they get shot, and the surrender animations are incredibly janky looking

How on earth could they have made the game system worse?
Having a weight system in a game like this means constantly having to communicate it over network
Since it's constantly changing when you're shooting ammo or dropping mags or doing anything at all really
It would have been nice to have it in different tiers like that one first responders mod does it, but fully accurate weight fucking SUCKS
But that version had other good things going for it, rather than being more purely focused on shooting like it is now. And the current SWAT feels a bit like Superman.
They carry their shields and battering rams on their backs without feeling the weight.
I'm not denying that, the current version has some very stupid fundamentals, but i'm just saying the weight system would have gone no matter what
if it's too strict, it would be like SWAT 4. SWAT 4 is great but the ROE is questionable and flawed
For example this version is too focused on the customization larp aspect rather than actually functional changes like different mag pouches on uniform or attachments that actually have a reason to exist
Swat 4 ROE is fine imo
We don't even have equipment or grenades that show up hanging off the side of the character

which is a GOOD feature to be able to tell what someone's carrying without even asking
And even ROE aside RoN needs to look to swat 4 for their mechanics and priorities more.
In 2019 and 2020, they were essentially treating RON as a remake of SWAT 4. It wasn't until later that they changed direction.
The game makes it so you can't shoot a suspect just for having a gun they have to actively point it at you another.

Snipers would work for some maps but not all, Drones could be cool but they need to focus on fixing current mechanics rather then adding crazy new ones
The drones maybe since they're already in some levels, but the snipers can stay dead
They already have the helicopter mechanic i don't see why they couldn't repurpose it for the drones
Of course, there's also the telescopic ladder.
Swat 4's maps where specifically designed with the snipers in mind a lot of the time lots of the levels in RoN just wouldn't work with them

literally almost never used snipers, they're pretty useless, occasionally they'll spot suspects

They would actually have more of a use case for their rifle in ron, but AGAIN the stars need to align to have a suspect and a civilian AND they need to be in a hostage situation to use

There were definently a lot of mechanics that were better in swat 4
Some mechanics in SWAT 4 were handled diferently, in a much simpler way which made the game feel more consistent
Aswell as having a pretty clear vision
for example suspects actually physically openning doors and not knowing if its jammed or not so you can actually catch a running away suspect by having them try and go for a jammed door and they will surrender.
I did that in the cult map and it felt so cool when it happened

I think AI is okay if its a picture of a person (especially since that would mean a character like amos voll would be tied to a real persons face), but if its a painting of person or an actual piece of art its robbing work actual artist could do and is just lazy

It shifted to Ue5 In the Home Invasion Update For example: Lighting on some maps got messed up really bad (Rust Belt was only fixed now in the console release) Gore was completely broken (Character Deformation was completely removed and seems to not be too the devs knowledge) Blood effects were downgraded to the point where they were barely noticable (this cant be noticed now because blood effects on console update build are COMPLETELY broken and dont even appear)

Im okay with the dlcs being paid they are actual content and not like microtransactions or something (+ DLC maps have a noticable up in quality compared to some 1.0 release maps)
Many people complained actually, one of the big problem was shader compilation stutters on dx12 people were had with every game or gpu driver update
To be fair back in the day when this game started development ue4 was only starting to get the rep of running like shit

It's one thing to have the set dressing bodies, it's another to know someone died while you were doing the mission
The shooting was already finished thats why I think it does well at not making you feel like you stopped a shooting and rather you are just far too late

Mh true, i would still make the bomb thing in a different way..either with TOC actually giving a time reference in minutes or when you find the first one you āreadā the timer and it appears for the other ones.
Alternative would be a whole diff approach but ye just an idea. Instead of searching for bombs you have a bomb squad dealing with it (lore wise) and you need to find the suspect that could detonate if x time passes. And either a deadman thing so you are for ed to take him non le thal or all blows up. Pretty much boom vest concept on steroids for the whole map.
My only complaint is that it should have been only 2 shooters with no "Grace period" before they start searching for Civs
but void loves there stupid S ranks and cant accept changing the formula for one map
One person i talked to had the idea to make the s rank on elephant just a time trial
clear as fast as you can and if civilians get shot that's just life
Would be much better..and make more sense actually.
Like if iām on the other side of the map i should still get the max even if they shot one on the other end..
Or make the Ai capable of covering more ground so you can actually split the teams, one goes against threats and the other deal with bombs..
Anyway, what you think a patrol load out challenge could be in term of secondary, tools ecc?

They actually shooting at the start of the mission, probably intended to make them roaming with their guns up so you can shoot them on sight or even through the doors/walls without unauthorized use of force

They are depicted in their ArtStation images wearing military helmets and body armour, with walkie-talkies.
VOID hasn't posted any new images on that website for quite some time now. I do wonder how many unused models and maps they still have tucked away.

Man, the hard AI is a mess and one of the most unfun experiences I've had recently. They really should take some notes from Stalker in how to handle difficulty. Crackheads should not be navy seals and they definitely should drop in 1 single chest shot with a .300 blackout while still doing great damage to you in hard.
Hard mode should be more in the line of ''Both you and the suspects deal maximum realistic damage'' and less ''suspects 360 noscoping across the map while your swat teammates take 5 years to react to anything''
game needs to look at how ground branch is designed. you can choose from 5 AI presets or you can manually adjust all AI parameters IN GAME. its an awesome craft your own experience idea

Basically, Ground Branch is good in some things, however for the most part Ready or Not beats it in a lot of other aspects.
I personally did not find much enjoyment from the game even from just watching it, however we all have opinions on that game.

You need to bind key. Every time I boot up the game, it unbinds itself. Very annoying
well they are 2 different games. what gb gets right is the AI presets and adjustment feature that would be a great addition to RoN.
reset your binds to default button..then redo your binds and they should stick

This is random but one thing in this game that has only gotten better as time has gone on is Sound Design and Voice Acting. It's like one of the only things I can think about that this game has been consistent on in quality (Voice acting has gotten far better then it was back in prerelease.)
This games guns have such a raw and powerful feel to them, Reminds me of Left 4 Dead 2.

this game has, sometimes, an identity crisis. It's awesome to play it out of its own rules. IMO it's much better tbh.
Still in Swat 4 you get punished for shooting a corpse even if they are dead and given the fact you can't really accidently shoot a corpse that would be unauthorized use of force against somebody who is potentially alive.
SWAT 4 is, IMO, much more fun to play according to its rules than RoN

sometimes you cannot know how 'out of the fight' a guy on the ground is. Dead checks are SOP in some situations.
Heres how it should be in my opinion: Mass Shooting Maps or High Intensity Maps (Neon Tomb, Relapse, Three letter Triad, Etc) should have the least strict ROE as if you have a gun in that situation you will most likely be shot on sight unless you immediently put your gun down Raid Maps: (MethHouse, Stolen Valor, 75% of maps) should have very strict ROE.

They removed the old PVP because it went too far. But given their desire to make money, the emergence of new PVP was inevitable. If they truly cared about opinions, there wouldn't be any censorship.
The crux lies in whether they truly desire another traditional PvP experience or are willing to innovate and create new forms.

I used to play with 2 negotiators and 2 intimidators, %80 percentage of suspects were surrendering. Some of them were dropping their guns before even seeing swat lol

Range 10m instead of 20m and shooting from it now count as gunshot, which makes intimidator harder to keep working or pretty much useless

No one is immune to pepperballs, you need hit them 4 times to stun on standart difficulty

You don't really need to do anything, 30m is not that far away unless you check right side on helipad, just take optic and you should be fine with it

You can also do it with the camera unlocker mod and it's console commands, though I believe it always resests to default and you'd have to type the command every time you start the game

So, respectfully I disagree. We all have our opinions, we all want the game to go in a certain direction, we all have different visions and things we like about the game. But going out to try and make a statement with the words "money, greed ..." is not right.
I think, while it's probably not entirely to do with super greedy EA shit, I still think there are many ways they can show that.
