I wouldn't mind the micromanaging the team if it wasn't undercooked and the game wasn't so punishing in general imo.
I think it's an interesting system which is just not implemented 100 percent in the best way.
Like not being able to restart a level on commander mode really grinds my gears.
if I cant perfectly beat a level cause I shoot the guy who held a shotgun to my head, then the game's grading is just incorrect, which leads to stress levels, which leads to my team being stupid
I still wonder why void decided to add such a useless mechanic to begin with. If your teammate leaves there are almost zero consequences. The mental well-being of your CPU comrades doesn't matter, either. They won't do shit if they're bordering on insanity or whatever. It's such a useless mechanic, istg 
I think stress needs tuning but I can see what theyāre trying to do with it too
I think they implemented it because they wanted to talk about the stress of the job and the mental health issues that can come from that, but it's just a bit rushed, I think CPU officers making mistakes while stressed is interesting but it is just a bit frustrating.
Not to mention that the officer related perks are a bit busted.

Honestly I weirdly have enjoyed commander mode more playing it on Ironman (going for The World and The Hermit). Things feel a lot more consequential.
Sure, but I think they could've done that differently. Either way, I hated this mechanic at first and I still hate it now. As far as I care, it just exists to hog up space at the end of every mission screen.
Playing for no failure is certainly fun, but the AI is too fucking stupid for it to work perfectly

Especially doing the dance around the AI, although if I had to go for the world I'd be playing lethal instead of non lethal, which might alleviate some of that frustration.
Finishing Port non lethally with the AI squad mates was already making me go prematurely grey, I couldn't imagine trying to do it while trying to not die all the way up to that point.
I actually disagree, the AI has issues but in my view people overstate the case. I do think I have a basis to speak on this- Iām not a tactical shooter guy normally and my twitch reflexes are average to poor but Iāve managed to S-rank the game in large part by using my squad carefully

I really do think that taking your time, holding angles, listening out for movement or shouts, using the wand (itās not just for doors, you can peek corners and angles with it) works well.

What sort of interference have you noticed?
AIs tend to re-shuffle themselves a lot, whenever Im still especially in tight corners, I constantly get the "i need you to move over" voiceline
small stuff that is irritating when you try to do things properly
you should be able to tell the AI what grade you're going for, and then they act accordingly
l;ike if you say D, they'll just shoot everyone because you don't care, but if you say A+, they leave dealing with suspects to you where possible
thats essentially what I mean, set their rules of engagement
I think loadout selection already serves a lot of that purpose

An option to set posture would be nice though- one problem with the AI is that it tends to push way too deep if you donāt wrangle them

I donāt know, there is just certain areas like the more open and vertical portions of the game which are a nightmare to deal with because of how the suspect AI behaves in tandem with the SWAT AI, and while Iām quite happy to deal with that with the ability to restart quickly, being locked into a match and losing an AI team member because they push to secure someone in a fatal funnel without being asked is frustrating.

I think the SWAT AI behaves optimally in close quarters with careful management, but maps like the postal depot and port, and to a lesser extent, neon tomb, feel like roadblocks for me trying to go for the optimal score.

I feel like a big part of that is that right now, SWAT AI tend to push too deep and also fight their own battles individually, so to speak

Itās a lot like a puzzle game in that regard, finding routes that work minimising risks.
That was an issue for me on port for sure, especially inside the warehouse with the dynamic clear command.
When it's a room or hallway, moving to points of domination makes sense, but in the main warehouse in Greased Palms or the exterior of Port Hokan, teams should be covering each other, moving more cautiously and reacting more to a member of the team taking fire, rather than clearing their sector first
They also just donāt seem to be aware of fatal funnels at times when clearing rooms, like theyāll cut across open thresholds and then get clipped.

Itās impossible to get right yeah, because with this amount of automation at this level of tactical depth, mistakes are going to happen, SWAT 4 had the same issue at times with the AI.

I donāt mind that, what gets me is them walking into open uncleared spaces to cuff a guy.
When you havenāt asked them to do so, like yeah itās super nice that you donāt have to ask them to do it, but like sometimes it ends in total disaster.
Maybe player deployment of lightsticks could also be used in this regard so you can flag to them that spaces you might have cleared individually are not uncleared space anymore, although again that comes with its own issues
but at the end of the day, i really like how much you can do with the AI, i like commander mode

This was such a ballache when getting Medal Of Valor, because I made a ton of use of ordering suspects to crawl to me- I'd end up ordering my guys to stay back because they tended to break cover to cuff the suspect riiiight before they crawled fully into cover

You can also tell them to run to the exit but itās very buggy.
It can be useful, although alerting suspects is a dangerous game- honestly if you stay quiet and listen, footsteps and passive dialogue chirps will help a lot. I suspect a lot of people have problems with AI in part because AI get alerted and hold tight angles with guns up.

I haven't had any issues with SWAT killing civies just out of the blue, even ones that punch me- that's a new one for me. Civvies more tend to die either when they're human shields that get executed or when they get between my team and an armed suspect that starts shooting. Also yeah, gas or stingers. Stuns will save your ass.

i've never had a civvie die tbh, i've had suspects die because officers switched from the pepper gun to their secondary, so i took any ammo to their pistols
I do like this and hope it gets refined because for something like Neon Tomb, Relapse or Elephant it makes a lot of sense

3 main things, we have a single 5 man team clearing an entire hospital in one case, we're dealing with bad people rings which really should be an FBI issue at this point, and we got sent miles out of the city to deal with a border issue??
there are only 3? cases where we respond to an average joe swat incident,
the school, the nightclub, and the talent thing
even so, sending 5 men to deal with a terrorist attack is irresponsible to say the least
how are there no other specialist units of any type on scene if we have the entire place on lockdown already
I don't get the not very SWAT criticism of the game honestly, a lot of it feels like people looking back at SWAT 4 with rose tinted glasses and/or expecting a 'realism' that would bluntly make the game trivially easy. In a realistic SWAT game you would have an 18 man stack entering from multiple points against suspects who more often than not would surrender.
Pretty sure the bad people rings are supposed to be in conjunction with federal agencies. The five person team thing I get entirely but it is also a video game.
This is why SWAT 2/3 goated since you could have multiple elements.
It'd probably a pain to have the player control multiple squads at once though.

SWAT 2 lets you deploy up to 20 officers per mission and SWAT 3 allows a second AI-controlled 5-man element. (and in 2 player co-op you could have each player be the element lead)
Since it is an active shooter situation, would they send just five guys? Probably not, but itās still a very fun set of levels.
That said, considering how this has the SWAT 4-like score system, it'd be a pain to have a second element.
Watch as they go die in some corner and tank your rating or kill someone when going for S-rank.
Like, look at SWAT 4. Anyone seen any evangelical militias attacking a stem cell research lab lately? What about an anti-globalist terrorist group attacking a building for being owned by the French? It does legitimately frustrate me sometimes when I see players arguing that the game should be up against suspects who do not tend to fight back, cannot reliably hit you, and should also have squad commands expanded to having platoon-sized elements on the map.
I don't think All suspects should be reluctant but as it stands outside of weaponry and gear , all suspects feel identical

AI miss now and panic way more. I have had more prolonged gunfights because the AI miss panic and take cover.

Iāve had some pretty cool gunfights where Iāve acted as the flanking element while my teammates lay down a base of fire.

There's a keycard in that staff breakroom- most of the doors don't have mechanical locks you can pick but rather electronic ones. The keycard opens them.

The comment section of that Face Full Of Eyes video on SWAT 4 (a masterpiece, everyone should check it out) is basically full of people shitting on RoN for not perfectly replicating their nostalgic memories. I think it's particularly unfair when people try and argue that RoN doesn't do environmental storytelling or anything narratively when it has far more of an overarching plot and themes than SWAT 4 ever did.
SWAT 4 does some things better but RON does some things better IMO.
Neither game is objectively better and same for SWAT 2 and 3, they all have their positive sides.
So yeah I am side "Yes RON has issues like removing the ability to play maps in different modes" but I also don't think it's some objectively worse thing.

I gaslit myself into loving all the maps I formerly hated by having to S-rank them. Brisa Cove slaps, I even taught myself to love Greased Palms. Complex challenges where you have to stay on your toes. It's why Narcos is IMO one of the best levels in the game. Lots of running firefights- reminds me of that one take scene from True Detective.
SWAT 2 and RON Commander both have you keep your Officers alive and active. (with SWAT 2 having suspensions and RON having stress.)

Sure, but Ready Or Not has the advantage of having been, and still being developed on modern hardware with modern programming tricks and so on. RoN also took far longer to develop when compared to SWAT4 and, afaik, also had a slightly larger development team. I do agree that SWAT4's flawed and is often put on a pedestal and looked at with rose tinted glasses but even so I feel like there's no excuse for RoN to repeat the same mistakes when so much time has passed since SWAT4's conception. I might be a little harsh... but I dunno.
I know there is a "permadeath" setting in SWAT 4 Elite Force but you don't have different members with different skills, you're just permanetly down one of your only 4 officers in a decently lengthy campaign. (so I never bothered.)

I feel like it's more understandable because frankly, SWAT 4's issues are baked into its format, which people love, and SWAT 4 also codified the genre with no successors afterwards. It's a tall order to iterate on a game with such a towering legacy that is the benchmark for what people were still asking for RoN to be.

Yeah, Iād avoid centre and clear the left or right first, centre has a lot of windows over watching it that the enemy can spawn in.
Iāve found the narcos donāt typically spawn in the same building as civilians generally speaking.

Performance issues are expected. The update for me on a 4070Ti has been great. UE5.3 is not optimized in general for cards under 2060Ti or the AMD equivalent

Clear the first bit before the stairwell on your right then take that. Don't go out the door going to second floor but take the left and snake your way through till you get to the back of the building. You can't clear ever single room solo. You have to gamble.

grenades in general are super bugged
sometimes even flashbangs and stingers do nothing despite being right infront of someone
CS gas has a decent AOE but with how open the maps can be in this game you cant always rely on gas covering everything

I think some GPUs benefit much more than others from DX12, DX12 should at the very least improve frame time, even if you aren't getting more.
DX12 has PSO caching and new GPU's should benefit from it more
If you really see no performance difference just stick to DX12
Idk if this is the case for other people but with DX11, at least on the last release build, I would occasionally get a crash during a load screen.

Pathing issues can be difficult to reproduce, and VOID is usually pretty good about touching up the AI navigation between updates, alongside the other changes.
I really want to use the 10mm MP5 but 10mm in RoN is actually garbage, it's worse than even .40 short and weak irl, just because they copied the stats from .45ACP, and then increased the recoil.
If they have memorized the thresholds I would assume they can reproduce it no problem

If your arms get hit, it turns into a paint shaker when you fire it, and even shift walking your sight picture wobbles around like your guy just finished off a four loko. If they just made 10mm fuck people up as good as it does irl, then it'd be a pretty good option tbh. The MPX recoil was fixed in this update, according to MMMM's spreadsheet.

VOID should really add another 10mm gun (please be a sidearm please be a sidearm please be a sidearm), and then change 10mm's damage values to put it somewhere between .357 and .45ACP for performance. It will be a very powerful option, which will perform closer to the MP7 and P90 in a familiar platform, at the expense of considerably higher recoil than either of those aforementioned PDWs, as well as a typical magazine capacity, no 40 round sticks or 50 round... bullet... platter... dispenser thingies.

The new rifle is very, very good. It has some recoil, but .300blk is a very strong cartridge in this game. It has less recoil than 7.62x51 and 95% of the usable power. The MCX was changed from .300blk to 5.56x45.

Use the mirror gun, or peak the door, as that'll just put the line under tension without triggering the device, you can then snip it. If you're uncoordinated, and worried about bumping the door while trying to disarm it, ask one of your squadmates to take care of it.

I would recommend using a mirror gun or if you know that the mission youāre playing on has tripwires peak the door look for traps and be careful to open it too much or else TEMs going to have to scrape bits of you off the wall

Some people just may rock with one thing and entirely that but I like to make and match with games like this and use the sandbox as much as I can

I use Canted aiming a lot to the point that I donāt really run flashlights all that much anymore and I use laser sites
once we get a mod for a Glock 19 switch i will rock it so hard

it looks very complicated from the start but a yt video or two will help you out, but in a nutshell you go to nexusmods.com and go under the RoN section find a mod you'd like, manually download and use an extraction tool to extract the pak file and send that pak file into your RoN content folder where the other pak files are

Yeah, its called gun and run. I would use the MPX or for submachine the MP5A3, a gas mask, Shield, gas grenades, taser and lockpick gun
I've tried doing that a few times, the issue is they don't even clear the building properly, so about 3/4 of the map still has to be cleared by the time they stop
i mean if the objective is to get the achievement who cares about the final score
Practice mode, don't give orders other than restrain, yell a lot to hear people, move on when you don't hear anyone, when you arrested 5 suspect and got the objective, kill the rest to save time, the rest is up to RNG; and having a fair knowledge of the map layout is a great help
the map layout is horrendous, so that'll take a while

i really liked the dorms map
the mansion in the dlc is pretty normal

normally i just wedge everything and go forward you cant really do that on dorms
Although if every map was like small interiors than thatās not really cool
that's one of the few maps that isn't super difficult to clear
There should be variety, but if a map is too big then like obviously thatās gonna be a problem 
narcos fucked me up, the map and the ai with their god like range and accuracy plus the end

the most normal map in ready or not was 23 gigs a second 100%, fun map layout, multiple floors, intresting mission objectives and cool lore
