SWAT 2 had the Five Eyes and I honestly thought they were the coolest part. (Them having their own campaign didn't hurt.)

You can just yell at her and see surrenders 99% of the time
If she doesn't for whatever reason just slap her or taze her

The taser does the same thing without the need to waste half of it for them to surrender (??????)
Also suspects can still shoot at you when you use pepper spray on them
Pepper spray is not a great item to bring
Pepperspray now seems like its intended to be used mainly against non compliant civs, but they never seem to be stubborn enough to warrant it
Before the taser buff and pepper nerf it was a no brainer to bring pepper spray but nowadays with a 2 shot instant compliance device pepper spray is just useless

That's how it was in swat 4 since uncompliant civilians were very common but RoN civilians are pretty reasonable
Theres something broken with the morale system
Ill give swat 4 as an example because in that game if someone isnt compliant they will not change their mind unless you lower their morale. Yelling does not lower it
But in ready or not it seems like yelling does have a bit of an impact which means spamming yell is viable
Plus for whatever reason civilians seem less compliant the further you are but seem to always give in if you get close enough

I canāt remember the last time she threw a punch at me. I experienced it a few times before 1.0, primarily on a mod map that used her as a civilian for some reason. But since then she just gives up, I donāt actually have the achievement where she kills you.

They were pretty noticeably nerfed, next update will include more changes to them such as the hit detection system. But they've said (compared to the current playable AI) not to expect major changes, but more subtle stuff.
Latest trailer shows em taking hostages which should be a good sign of them using more of their behaviors

it worked for me in some occasions cause no matter how many times i yelled at them they told me to fuck off so i just went "fuck it" and used warning shots š
And of course, apply beanbags to anywhere that's not the face.
I've yet to try the bean bags. But I'll try the shooting at the floor.

maybe I'll try it for this mission. I always seem to screw this up at least once. Last mission, the last guy who could have possibly been a threat came out of a corner and lit me up in about 3 shots. I'll probably take the beanbag myself my aim is ass so
they have a very good chance of me not shooting them in the face.

TBH I didn't actually realize it was him until afterwards, I took out most of the guards and really didn't want to redo the whole map a gain

Hey there. I just started with the game and wanted to do the tutorial, however, when I'm trying to tell the blue team to open the door and flash it - all the points are greyed out, I selected the blue teamd and held the shift key. Is this a known bug?

Go figure the answer to all these trigger happy vets with guns was just to play reinhart for my team
course I got into the next mission and after clearing 70+% of the level had to put on my surprise pikachu face as I turned a corner around a rack in a room I'd already been in and got blasted before I could even lift my weapon.
There's me still thinking how to not get shot when going through a corner or a room.
I sometimes react a second slower from identifying the threat and got a few rounds into me.
Either that or I finally use a flashbang, but they don't work.
I'm not a regular fps player, I don't have the twitch reflexes and it it shows a lot of the time, but yeah the flashbangs either work miracles are they do nothing
I don't have the fast reflexes either, but playing the game tactically make up for it most of the time.
I never memorize enemy spawn, and one time even playing a map I never played solo.
Get through the map with basic understanding of CQB.
But now my problem is.. how to not get shot.

The only reason I don't wanna play solo now is because the voice line is bugged when you play solo.
The voice is Judge's voice no matter which one you choose.
for me its I'm here for the narrative ride. I really don't care to play it with other people, and honestly that would just add layers of salt I don't want or need in this game. I'm playing to get to the credits
I don't understand why the SWAT AI encounters a suspect during move and clear, shoots once and then turns around and walks away.

its pretty far afield from what I'd typically play after all, I just found the story and premise behind it compelling -- a few yt videos on it helped. And really I think its better in some ways solo. You get to live with your own shitty decisions. i.e I got lazy and told my guys to clear the door and 3 of them died on the spot to a grenade. Go back to the station and one is dead dead, the other two are in therapy and I need to strap in for my next mission with four guys where two are in the red already.

Well yes an no. Man hooks actually make a lot of sense in a game like this if we had more missions where their was hostiles that were all inexplicably armed with semi automatic rifles. i.e the a coked out guy with a knife threatening to kill his girlfriend and locked up in a house.

well I'm dubious on that one, but its a good general check for these types of problems.
Really as an end user there is a natural limit to what you can try to get things working. Most of it boils down to making sure everything is up to date and your running the dx version your gpu can handle.
turning mods off (starting safe mode) may help as well, but it sounds like you never got the game to start in the first place to even mod it
finally S ranked all maps, ngl i think imo neon tomb is the hardest to S rank
.. Actually I'm gonna stop talking, because everything I'm saying or thinking you might try beyond that goes beyond whats reasonable for an end user. Make sure your system meets the required specs, update your system and gpu drivers, run the program by itelf with nothing ele but steam running. If it doesn't work file a bug report
I've not poked around, but many games produce dump logs when they shit the bed. I wouldn't be surprised if this one does too. That'll be useful if you submit a report, and may key you into the problem either way.

its the incapacitated suspects thats hard to manage
also note with my S-rank i did not use no mercy for terrorists
the issue with that is there is no entry point that doesn't immediately open up into a bullet hell
so its 100% legit S ranked

yes, take negotiator instead, yelling on suspect will make suspect surrender immediately with % chance (25% for 1 and 50% for 2 negotiators)
Well, I'm still hoping suspects would surrender right away when yelled at for once in multiplayer, in maps where the suspects would have more empathy or self preservation.
It's fine that suspects like terrorists and cult members don't surrender at all, but it would be likely for gang bangers and organized criminals to do so.
yeah I feel like this aspect could use some work. Like I just finished a mission where your fighting the "left behind." It makes sense that those guys well take it to the mat. But some random junkie or guard of a server rack not so much

Elephant I can walk 5 feet from spawn and civ gets capped by the shooter before I'm even in the building. Or halfway through Relapse you find a random civ that got capped :/ those 2 maps are the worst about it.

as for relapse i actually really like it, its probably my favourite mission in the game

I don't play with the AI often so I'm not sure about that. I just know they'll drop you if you tk another officer or kill someone that's surrendered. I think overpen will count that too even if its actually unintentional.

NGL Elephant feels cringe to play, the Squad AI is not designed to go fast.

I get what they were going for but this feels like one of those "Game's mechanics do not work with the level design" things.
You basically have to be the first one into every room unless you want to waste time (which you don't have) stacking up.
It feels at this point kinda like I'm fighting the coding of my AI if that makes sense.
my best advice is, get a general idea of all the enemy spawns, turn on automatic fire mode, and be prepared to shoot along every corner and hallway
To the point where I equipped a breaching shotgun myself because the AI was too slow using it.

Think of them like walking turrets lol. You're just there to kite them around. You can send them to do shit but they'll probably clear a room with their back facing the target.

Most randoms who decide to run it usually have crap outfit and rusher mentality that gets them killed.
They also tend to possibly kill civies.
But the audio cue was not audible in the hallway unless I was right outside the door*

regular tbh, it was fun to meet a swarm of bullets as soon as i exited the big stairway lol
one for barricaded suspects and one for raid mode, raid mode had the 2 buildings, and the laundromat you spawn next to now accessible to player, barricaded had the main building and tunnels accessible to the player

SWAT 2 makes you pay for yor gear and new officers and while it is a simple system it did add a small bit to the game.

Obviously a money system would require alot of work so I'm not really expecting it but it would be cool if getting a fancy rifle with optics was something you had to work towards. (let alone a full squad of them.)
Not that the SWAT 2 system was perfect.... (Tear Gas Launcher was technically a "gun" so it had infinite ammo so you only had to buy flashbangs after the Quarry mission halfway through the game since all terrorists had gas masks from that mission onwards.)

They did have a points system on early alpha builds (2018-2019) but it got scrapped for the current one, it basically a system to limit you on how much and the types of equipment you and your teammates can bring.
I'll probably do a "lore" gear run on a second commander run.

But honestly, I'm pretty sure LSPD could afford most things, including most rifle and pistol rounds, NVGs, and such. Just that I think the GPNVG and 57 are a little bit too overpriced for their budget from what they demonstrated in the lore.
It's not alot but I do like it when a game lets you get expensive stuff but you have to weigh up if the purchase cost will be worth it.

7.62mm High Caliber/Brigade E5 did it at least, your actual vest and plates were seperate purchases.

All mods do is just make them dumb easy (enough that I see those same mods having to make harder vevrsions,) whilst the devs are actually tweaking the blueprints of the game.
They've said that the AI have been tweaked and should play better, but if you're expecting a massive overhaul, then don't.

Noticed Elephant and Relapse (which involve bombs that kill everyone) seem to have more negative effects if failed.
Maps like Elephant and Relapse seem to cause much more stress to your officers in general because of the contents of the mission itself

it's probably when they detained a player of your team, you could cut them loose, in the animation it's pretty obvious that they are cutting some zipties from the officer's hands
I do hope VOID eventually add some of these cut concepts back but I'm expecting either in A: years or B: a Ready or Not 2 in a very long time.
Even then stuff like cutting power would probably only be in a few maps.
RON uses "Pre-baked" (I think the term is) lighting effects on maps for the most part, which is time consuming but less performance intensive, so that's why cutitng power got cut.
Makes sense, but I think it's for the better, I feel that it would be largely ignored by players due to the fact that most people rather play with laser than flashlights
I'd maybe like it but only as a gimmick for some replayable map in a year or two, maybe even it's a hostage map where the trade-off is that cutting the lights makes the hostage takers more trigger happy.
But yeah even my "generous" feeling of how it could come back is "Make it a gimmick for a map or two and do not put it in all of them."

The AI respond based on how you act, if you're goin in fast and killing them, then they are a lot more likely to be aware of you and respond with gunshots

My first time beating it, I unintentionally kind of was doing a non lethal run and I think it wouldāve been a perfect S rank
I donāt even know how my AI teammates dis not kill anybody because they all had lethal weapons because I wasnāt doing a true non-lethal run, I was just probably die with that pepper ball gun
Although the last suspect dude that I needed, one of my dudes shot him with a Remington so that was the end of that.

No official announcement on that, but it is very likely to be a complete redownload of the game, with perhaps a larger size due to the new content

i love this game but i feel like the ai needs to be nerfed a bit
plus police ai is pretty dumb, and on top of that this game makes me very anxious, which they've captured the feel of being a swat officer
every corner makes you think and its very stressful, not sure if you're gonna get shot in the face. the sound design is incredible

They're probably gonna get harder considering that ceramic armor is being fixed, but the SWAT AI should be receiving tweaks/improvements to fix their probs
When swat ai works it's great but I typically have to reset them by using fall in then re issuing orders
Suspect AI is good imo minus the targeting tweaks they're already implementing

From my understanding (if you trust the smiling man), is that it takes a lot more hits than it should in both "deleting damage" and reducing damage.
Basically I think it's supposed to take x number of hits until it starts to chip away at the armor, and then you take a % of damage from that until it breaks, but it's like x3 what it should be

Tbh, while I'm a rather experienced player (411 hours), being shot at is still inevitable.
According to my experience on training and sharing tactics with some milsim Airsofters and soldiers and playing games involving CQB, your enemies would always be able to get at least one shot at you if he's holding security at the door. You won't be able to react unless you got devices for distractions.
Just a food for thought, I'm not exactly a soldier myself.
But treat every CQB gunfight like you'll get shot.

Well, I made multiple outfits considered as different characters without backstory.
First one was a Mexican BORTAC member with anime tattoos on his arm.
Second is a LSPD member with custom uniform and plate carrier.
Third one is a FISA agent wearing rash guard outfit. I'm yet to decide his race though.

One should work, but it's not always the easiest to hit them, so if you can bring more taser ammo, do it.
yeah, its just when you get to pick between an extra slugs for my shotgun or an extra 3 mags for my taser it gets complicated
Just remember some suspects kill themselves if you shoot them with one taser prong instead...

NGL wish we could stick the carry handles we see on suspect AR-15 weapons on our own
not stating explicitly that you can play these maps even without the dlc (you just can't choose (host) them) is misleading as well
but i might just be expecting way too much transparency and maybe it's okay to trick people into buying something they don't really need
well if anyone bothers to think about it before buying the purchase, they can get that info in many platforms as well as the pinned messages in the server. But i can see how someone who is out of the loop may see it that way especially if they arent into the game media or the forums themselves.
imo dlc description should be pretty precise in what it actually does
as relying on "technically, we said that in an announcement (which no one reads)" might be a bit stupid
if people cannot read or dont want to idk, its always been an issue for every game. Similar to people who were expecting to have a season pass with the supporter edition. That was simply not true and they never bothered to read the perks of basically pre ordering something at a mark up price.

Where are you getting that info? About being able to play DLC maps even without owning them or the need to join a lobby with the host that have the DLCs. Also, they did state that the guns are free and will be added to the base game via an update that is releasing at the same time as the DLC in the Gif right above the description about the guns. Although they could have stated it better and more clearly, but the disclaimer is there.

I bought this game at Adam Update, and they never proved to be a challenge under an organized team, and soon solo.
it also doesn't say that the guns aren't part of the dlc. they outright show a graphic there "new guns" like they're part of the dlc. consistency/correctness is something void doesn't seem to understand, like at all
as if the internal guidelines for stuff like this were "don't misinform people (optionally)"

Yeah, but I imagine it was simply more convenient to describe the full update in the DLC page and then outline what hides behind a paywall, I think they made it clear enough
And besides, anyone who actually cares to verify what they purchase can take the few extra minutes to find out about the lesser details that didn't make it onto the store page
