Wedge doors and clear middle section area first. When middle section area cleared, clear the rooms that you wedged.

Depends, JHP has a reduced chance of overpenetration but is also a guaranteed chance of killing someone if you hit them in the upper arms/thighs

im still early into the campaign for grenade door traps to be of any worry, but i remember the first time playing RoN, first door i opened on twisted nerve was a nade trap

i don't play with others often since none of my friends play the game, but i did accidentally kill all of my AI squad by mirroring a door and not noticing the massive fucking grenade to the right of the camera
yeah, always check the left and right sides of the doors when you mirror, you might get a surprise when you open them

kicking door is 10m, gunshots 20m, idk about grenades, about 15-20m?
nope, it's same with and without supressor, it's only reduce stress gain by suspects

well, i test it earlier and it's affect suspects from 50m and more, but idk what hearing distance when you don't have line of sight with them

and your yelling have a short duration, so you can yell behind wall and then rush suspect, that yell will affect him

Every time I tell my Ai to search and secure, they say yes and don't do anything, does anyone know why?
The AI may be in a spot they can't reach, such as at spawn, or behind a locked door, or what's left they cannot report (soft objectives)
I am only missing one civilian on the hospital mission
There may be a surrendered person somewhere they canāt reach/search, or there may be a civilian not surrendered somewhere
And on another account, I was literally next to a civilian and they still did nothing
Search areas vary by location, usually within a room aka an area closed by stack-up points. Afaik swat ai will only search the room if suspects havenāt been dealt with yet, and will search everywhere once they have been, but they wonāt seek out and arrest civilians just milling around not on their knees.
Some areas, like the large outside portion of postal, cannot be searched by the ai and the option is greyed out

Did you command any civilians to move to the exit? That also has a high probability of not working properly, civs will run to your spawn point and stand there uncuffed

Kevlar sucks, ceramic when you play commander and steel when you multiplayer or pratice
ceramic is just good all-around, never really had it completely break, and if you were in a situation where it did, you'd probably already be dead anyway from limb damage
you still get injured through steel plates while ceramic completely protects you
not to mention vanilla acceleration on steel is abyssmal, four seconds to reach full speed with f+b plates iirc
Ceramic is bugged to fuck right now, you can absorb up to 10 hits (per plate) from 7.62x51 AP and take no damage

to be honest i should probably run the game in normal commander mode before trying the full ironman no deaths run
the idea of running pretty much the entire second half of the missions has me sweating a little bit
plus i still need my S ranks and that seems easier with the traits than trying to run everything in practice mode
if you die it's wont count. You unlock next mission even if you get negative score with F grade, just make sure you complete or fail every objective

you can do it, but your swat ai will agro on you if you will do it in wrong way

limbs damage have multipliers, for AP round it's 0.3 and for JHP 0.7 (expect 4.6x30. 5.7x28 and 7.62x51, they have 0.3x limb multiplier no matter of ammo type)
you will need more hits to limbs compare to torso shots for incapacitate/kill

Why do my cosmetics apply to each loadout?
Loadout and customization is separate things. You can save loadout but not your cosmetics

try making your way to the right hand side of the map, clear the tower and then the warehouse, make sure to bring some wedges to block the doors on the warehouse

Im fairly certain they are able to do that in all maps. Some are just more likely to do it than others
it can happen everywhere
the more hits it takes to down someone, the more likely it will happen, so generally you'll see it on harder levels with more armor
there is also a setting in the aileveldata that affects the chance for them to do it at all
it usually happens if you kill every suspect except for the main one like george in the spider, he will try to shoot him self

if you incapacitate/kill suspects your bots will lose sanity
kill less and arrest more, there is no other way around
also on elephant your bots will lose sanity no matter what
B/A seems like a pretty solid grade though

but on my next mission im bound to lose a bot no matter what
since theyre all on crisis and i cant get any more
Try going less lethal on some of the easier maps to help improve their morale
just run gas station or any other small map fully non-lethal, they will recover to content

it's actually not that hard. keep the general direction forward. Some paths go parallel. get to the river clearing the path you choose, return through another route and u'll have cleared most of it. Avoid going around, too much turning can get you confused.

I mean, the game has had friendly fire, but no proper PvP mode. They did remove the ability to choose the modes the map would be and opted to make the maps have a specific mode instead

That's sort of what the PvP mod does. One team is SWAT and the other is suspects. It plays a lot more like you've just plucked suspects out and put players in their place
pvp is still planned afaik but the main pve experience is still the main focus

is vortex neccesary for mods? because I hear alot of people talk about how crucial loading orders are but i only manually install mods
add snipers to Ready or Not, dont start bothering with mods, there is actually no mod that turns RoN guns into snipers
and mods that want to replicate snipers dont modify bullets trails or precision, so still being a mp5 shooting 300m away from my suspect

It's pretty much the only way to get an S-tier, incapacitating or killing any suspects will make it only possible to get up to an A+.
Beanbag shotgun is very good for getting compliance and has great ammo efficiency but you run the risk of accidentally headshotting people, pepper guns have 0 chance of hurting anyone but you'll burn through a lot of ammo, it's also a little easier to deal some collateral pepper to civilians than to accidentally beanbag one.
Note that the beanbag shotgun also has a lot more stopping power than the pepperball launcher since suspects are still able to stumble around while they're gassed
It is a lot more forgiving if you happen to miss though, unlike the beanbag shotgun which requires you to chamber another round before you fire again
There's really a lot of pros and cons to both, playing the beanbag shotgun for a while will make you wish you could just spray and pray with pepperballs until you swap over and after a while you get infuriated that every suspect takes 50 pepperballs to surrender so you swap back.
Yeah because im trying to get an S tier on the mail mission with the mail ( i forgot the name) and its feels nearly impossible to do it with the ai so I was wondering if you can still achieve S tier using letha;
Try getting a multiplayer lobby to do a non-lethal clear on that mission, it'll be harder in different ways but it might be the way forward if you're struggling to do it with the AI.
My advice is to try to save the center mail sorting area for last, trying to clear it while having suspects outside or around the fisa office makes it 10x harder. When I S-ranked it, I took the office and Jack down last after clearing everything around the center, then the center and office.
I will probably just carry on with the mission using lethal force and take the A but when i go for the S ill play with real people because its hard for the ai to almost understand'

While it won't block bullets anymore it will still block like 60% of the damage
ceramic blocks full damage until broken, and then blocks 40%
steel blocks 70% damage and never breaks

Eh, ceramic is definitely better for people who want less variables, such as new players. Steel has spalling, speed debuffs and higher injury penalties while ceramic does not. The tradeoff is a little more survivability with steel, from what I could tell. But honestly, you can't go wrong with either.
Another thing that matters is your type of coverage and how skilled you are to actually use the armor after you put it on. If you don't properly address or face towards threats, you will get shot in the side or lower back where you have NO armor coverage if you are running light armor.
- heavy armor will can cause heavier speed debuffs due to extra plates which would be very noticeable with steel, so honestly there are a lot of considerations.

Commander mode isn't meant to have a retry button besides the truck at the beginning you can use to leave early, if you want to freely retry missions, practice mode includes it

I never understood the ai complaints
I went to the mod menu before even playing the first mission, downloaded the first ai improvement mod I saw and I haven't gotten a single issue with ai at all
it's clearly not realistic for one

I've never been shot through walls, snapped onto, etc
The only issue I've had is sometimes my squad will block a tight hallway
these specific complaints are made by people who clearly deserved to be shot (in game)
And I've gotten through most of the game, I'm on the hospital level
but the AI does react, move, see faster than you
Honestly the only time I felt the ai was unfair was sins of the father
and they shoot you on sight, which rarely happens in real life
Even then to be fair that's the mission where you go against literal secret service agents, and not random crooks, meth heads, or mediocre security guards
Well they kinda are domestic terrorists
And in lore the Sec Serv agents appear to be way more brutal and uncaring compared to the rest of the left behind
They actively shoot innocent people and were about to execute the senator's family, meanwhile the dudes on the first left behind mission were oddly apologetic when getting arrested and seemed way less confrontational

i've never played with any other AI mod, so i really don't know. I consider RoN with my AI mod the most realistic cqb experience i have ever had in 20 years, so that's all i can say. I continuously refine some parameters on the mod, so it's been thoroughly playtested. It's very rare to experience wonkyness in it, and even when i do, it can always be a suspect's lucky day. It's that rare.

there's a lot of room to improve still, especially in terms of suspects coordinated efforts, but even in that case you can still exprience somewhat realistic situations with the mod, given the fact they will notice your audible presence from farther than vanilla. Also, kudos to the devs, for the actual noises made by your weapon make that much of a difference in detection.
btw, i'd like to mention BAX's AI mod. He helped me with the audible detection radius and was a good reference to me

obviously not by a lot but shorten it to like 90-95%
i believe the 'problem' is the audio file, not the suppressor. Because the devs wanted to be 'realistic', they made all suppressed guns quite loud.
Suppressors already halve the stress impact in vanilla, which is 'kinda' the same thing, as it will take double the shots to actually alert suspects

but when i play with the 'super quiet' gun i made, you can actually surprise the enemy
its cool how they made the subsonic chambered weapons noticably more quiet
so, i really think the detection system takes the real sound in the game world as reference, which is awesome

no it isn't. in fact FOV in games is a very interesting debate. We are looking at the world through a screen and the distance between the center of our eyes and the borders of the screen will tell you the 'realistic' FOV for a game. The problem is that it won't show much of the world so that you can actually function in it, so you'll need to adjust. BUT, if you increase too much, you will be compressing a large angle of the world into a very small geometric angle and that will completely destroy your ability to detect and engage targets at a distance! everything will appear much more distant than it would IRL.
So, the best FOV setting for a 3d game will be the smallest one that you're comfortable playing in.

SWAT 4 didn't. But it was also a very different game. And much better balanced for what it proposed itself to be. RoN offers way more realistic firefights than Swat4 (only talking about combat here) and in this case sprint is necessary.

Unfortunately no, maybe a mod but vanilla game there isn't
movement in RoN feels crippled compared to the way it challenges the player with combat. In a way, there's only one 'right' way to play it and it's a bang&clear simulator, which i consider very boring in gameplay terms. Those 2 aspects, AI and movement were the most important reasons why i created my mods.

It's an art form, I'd pick your own style. For the most part I clear with the entire team, but if it's a small room, I have one team go in. I don't let them go beyond that though

I've now completed this game twice, 1 in normal 1 in ironman
Took me 6 attempts to complete it in iron man XD
try not to get into protracted gunfights by the loading docks as that is a pretty killer space for getting lit up by 5 suspects at once
going around the outside usually works better
how do i edit loadout order
go to swat unit or the armory in headquarters

You can play just like that and they will follow you, I don't find myself using the commands all the time, unless I feel funny/cool.
The commands are pretty straight forward, you just gotta learn when to use em mainly

It is annoyingly big. I failed that mission so many times
i changed the binds to one of my mouse buttons trust me get that done it helps so much to have a flashlight on missions
its the thumb mouse button by default
