Not necessarily, but given the circumstances, and the fact that the developers deliberately didn't give any civilians that same accent clued me in.
the only time i actually killed a civilian thinking it was a suspect is when the phone mechanic first came out
it would be cool if they gave some of the civilians arabic accents, just to give the player even more stress and suspicion on who to focus on more
This would be a lot of work but having 2 or 3 voice sets for each suspect would greatly reduce readability.

I do wish there was some way to move just a little bit faster. Turning the FOV up helps you feel faster, but it's still the same speed.

People using realism to completely deny the idea of any kind of faster movement option forget that this game isn't realistic at all. Suspects on gas can just eat a 7.62x51 AP round to center of mass and then just run away.

Volumetric stuff like that is hard to make and resource intensive.

Flashes are inconsistent.
I would say stingers are a little better because it throws rubber balls out from every direction, but I've also had those just not work.

I have used stingers before, and they have worked, but when they don't it's harder to tell, because usually suspects yell, "AAHHHH, MY EYES, I'M BLIND!!! I CAN'T SEEEEEE!" when you flash them, but they just squat and flap their arms when you stinger them.

Void's current implementation does not function a significant portion of the time.
They don't need to get into advanced volumetric stuff to fix 99% of the issues
Simply adding secondary -close to grenade- circular checks that ignore objects would fix almost everything with the grenades
another problem is that it seems like elevation changes make the cs gas and flashbangs effectiveness fall off hard

The current grenades need direct LOS from the grenade to the suspect, meaning that even two suspects standing in a line could block the grenade effect from one to the other. Or a chair leg/small floor debris could block the tracing entirely
Grenades desperately need to be switched to raw AOE. Who cares if a not-perfect throw flashes a suspect on the other side of a couch or doorway they're taking cover on

Gas is the exception to my understanding, it has some kind of volumetric system, but that also seems inconsistent. But without the actual debug tools to see the dispersion in real time š¤·
That's why I just avoid CS gas. It's a mystery.
CS is 100 times more reliable then flashes/stingers because they at least provide repeated area-checks instead of just a 1 and done
The 2 times I've used it I've had people in the cloud just mag dump me immediately, but I was probably just unlucky.

One thing I've tried recently was using the VKS for lethal runs. Bring your favorite pistol and enough ammo for both weapons, use indirect pepperball fire to flush people out of cover during gunfights and shoot 'em with your pistol.
spc on elephant was straight pain, mag dump into a guy and it stunned him

The trick with SPC spam is running JHP instead of AP.

Mine was the one I mentioned. The Wilson Combat EDC X9. I couldnāt get it to equip for my AI team. Before hotfix they could use it just fine
Ballistique already made a FNX-45 mod that has a 15 round magazine IRL, I wish they would just go back and update it now that they know how to modify mag capacities on weapons (and also fix the gun not having a firing pin while they're at it)

It always kind of bothered me how a game where enemies go down in 2-3 shots has reloads as fast as COD
slower reload would make it nice and more realistic but that can't happen during firefights

I add a self-imposed limit of 15 max slots from the 25 that Gunfighter provides

I only use 4 primary mags, the rest of the slots go towards grenades

Jams only make sense in survival games where maintaining your weapon is an actual feature

This... is not the case i don't think, if you want a game that truly appreciates what SWAT officers go through i think you're better off with SWAT 4 even though it takes more of a hollywood approach, it handles a lot of concepts with a lot more respect than RON such as RoE and value of life

As in it puts more emphasis on the parts that matter, a lot of the missions have a good "human" element to them that lacks in RON, the writing is a lot less edgy yet it hits way harder, the bond with your team is a lot more personal since they're not just disposable goons like in RON's commander mode. You're pushed into arresting people by their believable reactions, by the settings which are way more fleshed out and logical, compared to RON's universe where everyone is either a kiddie diddler or an unredeemable evil person. You're heavily penalised for shooting people you're not supposed to, having to always ask for compliance and risk giving the enemy an edge over you etc.
Overall it's just way better thought out, paced and executed, all done by a way smaller team under way less time

SWAT 3 has a lot of cool features but overall i think it suffers from a lot of the same problems that RON has: namely the lack of suspect self preservation, the dumb but technically impressive AI and its gameification aspects
SWAT 3 however had a very cool ranking system where you would get medals instead of a sorry little rank

Look up SWAT: Elite Force First Responders, it's about as close as you're gonna get. Gunplay does feel clunky but that's not really the point of the game, you're supposed to be taking people alive, guns are last resort

Stealth is generally calmer or there to build tension, action is very fast usually and triggers when a gun is fired or grenade goes off
Pretty sure the music cues don't function properly currently. It also heavily depends on how long you take in certain areas and how long you are in combat. That being said, especially Greased Palms OST is a freaking banger.
